And so the short lived but glorious reign of
BETTY CRACKER THE FIRST
ended.

I have no idea what this means so I’m going to assume it’s so so dirty.

Maybe she loves email as much as you do …

This is new — the page keeps having to reload on my iPad (I get that “this page had to be automatically reloaded” message at the top of the browser page in Safari). I have not had this problem with the redesign until tonight.

@Mnemosyne (tablet): Oh no. I hated, hated, hated that on my iPad. (Not on this site, but on plenty of others.)

@Mingobat f/k/a Karen in GA:
It’s annoying, and it only just started happening with this latest post (and it’s also happening with the above post). Weird.

“Follow me—follow me to freedom!” I knew it was going to be that one.
Those SportsCenter ads are the best. I dare not go to YouTube or I will be there all night.

More like “Betty Cracked”, eh?

As one of the few who praised the change (and asked that tags be at the bottom of posts…) I feel ignored with all your railing at the bitchers, Cole. Not that they don’t deserve it, but fuck!
Good move making the author and tag line black. (And on tags, cuz you want it: tags are on par with indexes, with footnotes. They by their very nature *want* to be at the end of posts. But I don’t care.

FP still sux. So there.

@amk: Use f.lux

@redshirt: It’s not the brightness issue, it’s more of the cluttered layout issue.

Thank you, John. I truly appreciate your noble efforts to make things better. You of course know, that part of this is the joy of suffering passive aggressive slights and inuendos… but then you know — you are a progressive.

Now no longer the whitest blog on the interwebs. Yeehaw!
Anyway, things be faster and for that I am grateful. Also, too, the forward/back arrows, once I discovered them. Supah!

WTF is the fucking ad atop the page “STOP THE DNC FROM HIRING ILLEGAL ALIENS!” with a pic of DWS, who hardly anybody knows? Weirdest political ad ever, I can’t begin to guess who’s paying.
LauraPDX
@trollhattan: I am seeing a wonderful ad for colorful men’s underwear.

@amk: f.lux fixes all brother.

@redshirt: cole’s mantra?

@amk: I got f.lux contacts and now the world is a perpetual shade of tangerine. It’s groovy.

Cue the musical Waybac Machine.
Would you like some of my tangerine?

Is anyone else having problems scrolling down the page on an iPad? I scroll down two or three posts and then it freezes, refuses to budge until I refresh the page. And page load times are definitely worse since all the “improvements”.
I appreciate the addition of time of posting on the subhead, but still miss a link to comments at the end of the post. Don’t most people read a post first and then decide about reading or writing comments? As it is now, you must scroll back to the beginning of the post to get to the comments.

@NotMax: Fun.
But then, I seem to enjoy every single form of music that exists, since I’ve yet to hear one I don’t enjoy – in some capacity.
Some more than others, of course.

@NotMax: They had simple tastes in 1967. What little did they know what sound could make into music.

Since everybody seems to be at each other’s throats over this site redesign, I offer this song for peace.
