@Kryptik: Also, morons. Most of the terrorists ID’d so far are French and Belgium citizens. So cowards and/or knaves missing the main thing to worry about: disaffected home grown terrorists. But that is an actual problem and people will demand actual realistic plans to deal with that. Better to focus on something easy to yell about.
Refusing to deal with the refugee crisis is an easy solution to the wrong problem. Then when not dealing with that leads to more problems, there is always Obama to blame.

The goal is to make sure that people don’t see ‘immigrant’ or ‘refugee’, they see ‘invading army’. That they don’t see a human, they see a living plague. It’s about the dehumanization of the plight. And that goes for both Da’esh militants and our own right wing nutters: different reasons, same MO and same goal.

Wow. I’ve nearly finished the edit and have completed all the footage sync. And – cautiously – the movie itself doesn’t look bad. I’ve been working for 3 straight days to complete a short the same length as the last pilot I worked on that had a full crew, a dedicated editor etc etc. Amazingly tired. though.

This overview of the history may be of help. Note the differentiations available to the states (by way of federal statute) applicable to undocumented persons, which ostensibly would not be currently applicable in the case of entry of refugees approved for immigrant status.

@efgoldman: I don’t understand not at least asking and putting the onus on Abbott. Although, in this case, I am sure Abbott would be more than glad to show boat denying a petition to a guy who burned three little girls, one being his own daughter, to death as an example of why the death penalty is needed. These particular attorneys did do a pretty extensive appeal, but like many death penalty cases, the defense work at trial appears to have been atrocious.
