ISIL Is Weak

Someone posted a video from an Australian show, called The Project,on my facebook page. It took me awhile to track down the youtube link, but finally here it is:

I’d like to know what you think and if anyone knows more about this Australian program.

Meanwhile in Virginia:
Three men were arrested and charged in a plot to bomb African American churches. It’s an NBC video so I didn’t want to embed it for fear of making things glitchy. But I find it interesting in all the FEAR, FEAR, DEATH, ISIS is coming for you, that an actual threat on American soil was mostly ignored.

But you know, it was three white dudes, so I guess not as scary.

    Chris Rock said it…

I’m not afraid of Al Qeda/ISIS

    I’m afraid of Al CRACKA.

I’m afraid of being in the wrong place at the wrong time:
    1) some frustrated White guy with guns
    2) the wrong cop while I’m Existing While Black

As a Black person in America….

    THOSE are my terrorist organizations.

Don’t give two shyts about ISIS.

I’m so old I remember post-9/11, when everyone (aka Bush Admin) was pushing the meme that there were al Qaeda cells in every neighborhood and it was just a matter of time before they’d be activated. Add a liberal application of Terror Level, and there you go.

At least there are adults in charge in this country this time. That leaves the media to do the heavy fear-mongering by themselves, and I’m not sure they’re up to it.

Home-grown attempts to intimidate, threaten and terrorize Muslim Americans isn’t getting blanket coverage either. And the (admittedly dregs-based as from ChiTrib comments) support for dragging vaguely Middle-Eastern people off planes for reading news is full-throated. But, then, watching someone actively engaged in the willing perusal — intake even — of information (possibly even International or Climate related!) would immediately seem threatening to many ‘mercan white christianists.

Three white dudes who planned on attacking blacks and Jews. That’s minus at least 100 fear points right there.

Billy Bob in Bumfuck, Kansas (who has only met two Jews and five black folks in his life) only cares when it’s brown folks killing white folks (because those terrorists will be attacking Bumfuck any second now).

The competition is admittedly pretty fierce, but I’m nominating Walter Russel Mead’s piece in The American Interest for “Worst Syria Column of the Week.” Here’s a taste:

Not even President Bush’s decision to go to war in Iraq has been as destructive for Europe or as damaging to the Transatlantic alliance as President Obama’s hard-hearted and short-sighted Syria policy.

@Poopyman: Selling fear is good for ratings and it happy aligns with the Republican party election season strategy. Obama mocking Republicans as in effect cowards is a good counter to that, but I fear he is much more adept at countering the media narrative and mocking fear mongering of the right then Hillary Clinton is.

And, of course, in Missouri the sole Democratic Party candidate (probable – he hasn’t “officially” declared yet) for the open gubernatorial seat in 2016 can’t help himself as he joins the pile of republican gubernatorial candidates wetting their pants about refugees:

@p.a.: I wonder which “better angels”? In 1919 the Galleanist anarchists set off eight bombs in eight US cities. They weren’t very good at their work, and ended up killing none of their targets, one innocent person, and one of their own. In the aftermath over 10,000 people were arrested, over 3,000 were imprisoned and over 550 legal resident aliens were deported. The resulting “Red Scare” led to the curtailment of civil liberties and many illiberal laws being enacted.

And Warren Harding put an end to all that and Wilsonianism in general. This did not make him popular.

I’d like to know what you think and if anyone knows more about this Australian program.

I think the dude’s a little worried about backlash, but everything he says is right. Daesh is basically a Muslim end-timer crew, looking to for the end times battle in Syria as (apparently) predicted in Muslim prophecy. Muslim ‘evangelical’ tea bagger types.

Like Ben Carson….Michelle Bachmann, Ted Cruz, etc.) (And also, like those hard nationalist Orthodox Jews looking to retake the Temple Mount and all of the West Bank. They’re beavering away at that right now, thanks to your friend and mine, Bibi!)

So we got us this here collision of end-timers in the Middle East, all looking to fulfill whichever particular prophecy they’re following.

(Let us not forget, BTW, the other secular end-timers who are indirectly involved with this – the Cheneyite ‘We can win a nuclear war with Russians’ crowd, the hard shell followers of the Invisible Hand (the end times come and paradise follows when the government is repealed and corporations the free market rules all – that would be the Kochs), the ultra-orthodox Invisible Hand guys who follow von Mises and proclaim GOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDD (that would be the Paulites), and of course, the neo-conservative end timers, who are part Cheneyite and part Jewish nationalist and to a considerable degree, seeking the return of the Golden Age of Victorian England. All those folks helped give us Iraq, and the Iraq occupation.)

All that is without getting into the Great Game aspects.

What amazes me is the way the Pentagon continues to exploit these irrational fears to funnel massive amounts of money to defense contractors who anally rape the American taxpayer by building worthless weapons systems that are useless in fighting a foe like Daesh. For example, nuclear submarines and the F-35 fighter. If conservatives think they are paying too much in taxes (when effective tax rates are near historical lows), they need to cut the Pentagon’s budget by half or more!

Some of them have been repurposed to serve as lower-cost conventional cruise missile platforms and bases for special operations, which can be of some use against groups like ISIL. They don’t need a complement of fleet protection and supply vessels like aircraft carriers. The F-35 is a complete clusterfuck, however.

I am just sick and tired of folks being worried and/or scared of this or that.

    Got this on repeat:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa_k-dY_L7c

I was so late to this lady, so late. Read one of her media blitz interviews and she says “fuck” and “cunt” in almost every sentence. I cuss like a drunken sailor in my “real” life so I kind of like her more.

Interesting about another story that MSM never covers, mostly because the victims are Africans, is Nigerian/Chad/Western Sahara terrorist group Boko Haran, who is likely to get: https://newrepublic.com/minutes/124129/award-deadliest-extremist-group-world-goes-to

President Obama Not Afraid to Use the Secret Service to Keep Dudes Away From Malia
    November 18, 2015

In a new interview with GQ, Dad-in-Chief Barack Obama lamented not getting to spend as much time with his daughters Sasha and Malia now that they’re teenagers, but admitted that he’s not afraid to employ his unique resources when it comes to keeping gross dudes at bay.

Though no guy has been brave enough to risk coming to the White House to pick Malia up for a date, the President said he’s caught some wannabe suitors giving her the up-and-down. “I’ve seen some folks glancing at her in ways that made me not happy,” he admitted. And when that happens, “Just keep an eye on him,” he says he tells the Secret Service.

My best friend in college, non-military guy. His two best friends from college, Army, Air Borne. They’d come to college and in our Frat I was given one of them to mentor, which was funny because he knew he much more than I.

He never talked about his service much if at all.

There are only a few things I will never forget in my life. Seared into my memory.

He got called up for the first Iraq war. Packed his bags and was off in under 60 minutes. This:

This country just needs to split up or have a nice little civil war and thin the herd. Most of the thinning will happen in the red states when they find out their sugar daddy blue states ain’t paying for their healthcare, schools, roads and food stamps. Seriously, how do these dumb ayss bed wetting governators think they’re going to stop Syrian refugees coming across state lines? Some of these people are going to get on their feet pretty fast and be able to move. These idjits never think things through.

@Paul in KY: That’s not the framing I’d use. Even if unintentional, it has the appearance of assigning some level of blame to the band for what happened.

Regardless, seems more likely that they targeted based on the venue, not the specific concert, and that the date was chosen b/c of the soccer match.

@Tommy: Tommy, you have a link in the footer that goes to your test site, which is currently not responding to the request. It’s why the page seems to be loading endlessly for so many of us.

Also, I know that cache manifests are good practice, but I think that’s the cause of the front page not refreshing for people. I haven’t been able to duplicate it myself, but it’s a long-running problem for certain browsers.

Maybe they read the same article? Maybe that was why they were targeted, instead of another act. Who knows, but my conjecture is just as valid as his, IMO.

Fvck Daesh up the ayss with a baseball bat. Fvckers can’t win on the basis of their sheety 1200 B.C. ideas so they have to ‘govern’ their area through terrah. What a bunch of pooh seas. Real men don’t need to rape their women and cut off peoples’ heads. I bet all Daesh guys have teeny tiny little peckers. And, John Oliver’s right. Daesh has zero chance of winning against French culture.

@Princess: Bashing immigrants is not a wedge issue for Republican voters. Pretty much 80% were in favor of keeping out the Syrians in a poll posted here. There aren’t any voters to be lost by playing up the fear factor. Since about 50% of the Democrats are also upset about Syrian immigrants, it is a perfect wedge issue to play up. No matter what position a Dem has, about 1/2 his or her voters won’t like it.

@Paul in KY: Some of America’s DAESH types, the Westboro Baptist Church, have made noises about going to France and stirring up trouble. They should not, because the French have laws about hate speech and they can scream “you’re trampling on my First Amendment Rights!” all day and the French will laugh at them as they latch the doors on their cells.

I’ve decided that “Republican” needs to be a synonym for coward.

True story, I dropped the dog off at doggie day care today and told them the pup was “acting like a Republican, he’s scared of everything this morning.” They thought that was hilarious. Let’s make that one stick.

This is the ticket. It’s accurate; make them pay for it.

“But you know, it was three white dudes, so I guess not as scary.”

There is a long grand tradition in this country of white guys running wild and killing people with little justification and less consequences.

It’s all just part of the plan
