Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

The revolution will be supervised.

If you cannot answer whether trump lost the 2020 election, you are unfit for office.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Stop using mental illness to avoid talking about armed white supremacy.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

“woke” is the new caravan.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

NH Union Leader: "Gov. Christie is right for these dangerous times." https://t.co/BD9un8Nm0Z

— Rachel Smolkin (@RachelSmolkin) November 29, 2015

Cynical Masshole that I am, I think this can best be interpreted as the Union Leader‘s FVCK ALL YOU FVCKING IOWA BIBLE-BANGERS – #FITN!!!

Because New Hampshire, and more specifically the UL ‘kingmakers’, totally owns its “First in the Nation” primary, corn-sucking caucuses be damned.

Is it me or does the Union-Leader editorial read like it was written by a sixth-grader? https://t.co/1U97r50uz3

— Daniel Drezner (@dandrezner) November 29, 2015

@dandrezner It was written for 6th graders

— Macedonian Tendency (@DavidEdenden) November 29, 2015

@dandrezner Only way to get Trump supporters to switch. :)

— Sadanand Dhume (@dhume) November 29, 2015

Told this to Joe McQuaid. He says to tell you he finished the eighth grade. https://t.co/p5DxFLlvRE

— Roger Simon (@politicoroger) November 29, 2015

… proving that ‘social promotion’ was a thing, even back in the olden days. (McQuaid’s the UL publisher.)

It's funny that the Union Leader, which twice endorsed Pat Buchanan, has discovered the importance of sobriety and experience.

— Josh Barro (@jbarro) November 29, 2015

Better to have than not have the Union Leader endorsement. But not by a huge margin.

— Ben White (@morningmoneyben) November 29, 2015

But in just 10 weeks, New Hampshire will make a choice that will profoundly affect our country and the world –

Fall Out Boy, a band which I don’t dislike, I guess, is the halftime concert* at the Grey Cup.

They’re from suburban Chicago. Canada is now out of Canadian music stars.

    They’ve always been losers.

4 years ago they endorsed Newt. He went on to visit a lot of zoos and Tiffany stores.

    Other losing endorsements
    1988 Pierre du Pont
    1992 Pat Buchanan
    1996 Pat Buchanan
    2000 Malcolm Forbes Jr.

So they either endorse old money or old assholes.

Per the wiki, here’s the rap sheet of the “pro-life” movement since 1977:

3 kidnappings, 11 murders, 26 attempted murders, 41 bombings, 91 attempted bombings, 153 assaults, 173 arsons, 373 physical invasions, 619 bomb threats, 1,264 incidents of vandalism, and 1,630 criminal trespasses.

A terrorist movement by any definition or measure.

Enabled and abetted by the Republican Party for 4 decades.

    @dmsilev:
How did the Union Leader pick Chris Christie to endorse, out of all the Republican candidates? Did it run some sort of competitive interview/assessment process, or did it just pick the one who paid it the most attention? Its statement of endorsement reads like Christie’s media people wrote it; it shows no sign of being the outcome of the former. The Union Leader seems to be squandering its endorsement on an unpopular candidate with no real chance.

@Amir Khalid: As everyone has pointed out, the UL is thirty years past its sell-by date.

But in the New Hampster GOP, it’s important. They can’t possibly endorse one of “those people” (anyone that the bible-belters in Iowa would support), so they have to go fishing in the pond of “respectable but sound tough”. Trump is running for America’s ID, Rubio is –gasp!– Cuban-American, and ¿Jeb? is a loser; Carly has a va-jay-jay.

It was down to Christie or Kasich, and I do NOT want to know what perverse acts were required by the UL editorial board. NO, NO, NO, NO!
