NFL Open Thread

Can any NFL game being played today or tomorrow equal the excitement of the Thursday night Packers-Lions contest, with that astonishing Hail Mary as time ran out? Almost certainly not. Nonetheless, here are my picks:

nfl dec 6

I’ll probably regret sticking with the Bills and Dolphins again. I hope I’m wrong about the Falcons, Raiders, Patriots and Racist Epithets of DC.

What say you?

    I’d stopped following the follies of the Mediocre Racist Epithets several years ago, so I was taken aback by WaPo headlines saying they were in first place. Then I looked at the standings– ha ha.

    I haz a big sad. My team Liverpool just lost 2-0 at Newcastle, a match they should have won against a team in the English Premier League’s relegation zone. Liverpool had an equalising goal disallowed today, no thanks to a wrong offside call.

    Texans over Bills. Dolphins over Ravens. Bengals over Browns. Bears over 49er’s. Jaguars over Titans. Vikings over Seahawks. Jets over Giants. Cardinals over Rams. Bucs over Falcons. Broncos over Chargers. Chiefs over Raiders. Panthers over Saints. Eagles over Pats. Colts over Steelers. Washington over Dallas.

Everyone is still without power and it looks like it might be Tuesday before they get it back. One of her daughters has hot water (gas boiler) and another has cooking facilities (gas stove) so she went to one house for a shower and another one for dinner :) Both of them have been over to her house to use the phone. Neither of us has been able to get a hold of Mum so we are still a bit concerned about that. Her husband is stuck at work and unable to get home due to all the roads being closed. Not gonna be a problem. The SF quarterback had hisself a purty good game.
    That game-winning pass looked right on the money.

    See if you can find any information about Arnold’s wife Peggy and how she faked out Hamilton and Washington with her histrionics, giving Arnold enough time to escape. She confessed it had all been an act to — wait for it — Theodosia Prevost, who later became Mrs. Aaron Burr.

    @Germy:

    They say that they’re hoping to, but there are a whole lot of contracts that would need to be negotiated. They did a “Great Performances” documentary about his previous Tony-winning musical, “In the Heights,” so I’m sure that’s already in the works for after the 2016 Tonys are awarded. (They just missed eligibility for this year’s Tonys, for which the other new musicals of 2014-2015 are probably grateful.)

    @Davebo: I was at one of his places in Detroit a few years back. The specialty is a 42 ounce steak. There’s a plaque by the door and you get your name on it if you finish the thing at the table. We were joking that an asterisk means you also survived the crash cart incident after.

    Later on I was meeting some different folks from the same company in the dining room after their meal. The five of them were all eating from one creme burlee the size of a dinner plate. I said to the waitress, “That’s a single serving, isn’t it?” and she affirmed this suspicion with a nod.

Broncos over Chargers. Chiefs over Raiders. Panthers over Saints. Eagles over Pats. Colts over Steelers. Washington over Dallas.
