Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina argued on Sunday that GOP voters should select her over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) because he would say “whatever” to get elected.
Speaking to CNN’s Dana Bash, Fiorina defended her criticism of Cruz for shutting down the government in 2013 over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law.
“Ted Cruz is just like any other politician,” Fiorina told Bash. “He says one thing in Manhattan, he says another thing in Iowa.”

There may be a bit of that thinking, but this is basically the same old range war. Their objection isn’t to the federal government owning courthouses and similar buildings; it’s to the federal government owning large swathes of land. They think the BLM, Forest Service, Park Service, and similar agencies are unconstitutional, and the government should be forced to give up all the open land it owns out west. And they absolutely hate government rules that prioritize wildlife over other uses, so wildlife sanctuaries are on their shit list.

Probably shouldn’t complain. The Bengals and Cardinals have been really good to me this year.
No kidding. Maybe Geno will come back next season, with a renewed sense of purpose, and a hitherto-unnoticed ability to throw a pass in front of a receiver. Or maybe Ryan Fitzpatrick will develop an arm strong enough to throw a pass — accurately — more than 12.3 yards. And maybe I will be 30 years younger.
Injuries are a big part, but every team has injuries.
Not a Pats fan (as you may recall), but I think they’ve have enough injuries to key people that it would be exceedingly difficult for them — or anyone — to win against good teams.
It’s more that wildlife are given equal status to their cows or sheep. Which, in their eyes, is “prioritizing wildlife.”
I would dispute that mildly. There are rules that very much put wild animals ahead of livestock; that’s exactly what a wildlife refuge is- a place where wild animals are allowed but livestock isn’t. In any case, the bigger point is that the ranchers really see the land they ranch on as their property no matter what the legal niceties say, and they’re looking for any kind of excuse for why they should just be allowed to have it. That’s the central dispute, and everything else is either secondary or just an excuse.
Fitzpatrick did just fine down the stretch….. until today.
