Also, are you sure you want people to rate your comments?

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

KC is just not a good team but the Pats are so beat up. That’s going to be a rough one. I personally want the Cards to beat the Pack.

I want the Pats to win, but I’m afraid the Chiefs will. That said, my predictions:

    Pats 24 Chiefs 20
    Arizona 28 Green Bay 24
    Seattle 30 Carolina 27
    Denver 17 Pittsburgh 10

    Where are your picks, Betty?

No idea how KC guards Gronk if he stays in this game. Putting a CB on him obviously isn’t going to get it done in the red zone. Do they double the TE and make the slot receiver beat them downfield/across middle all day?

@efgoldman: News of the Pats woes is vastly exaggerated. Brady was seen walking around without a limp. Edelman has been ready to go with the bye week helping further. Volume is still a little beat up, but should be ready to play. The core of the front 7 on defense are ready to go. Gronk will play.

Am I the only person who hates all the shots that are practically at field level? I much prefer having the wide overview of the play. The field level plays are an interesting novelty, but actually make it harder to follow the game. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

I do like some of the novel angels during replays, but not for the live action.

Oh, dear, I have planned my afternoon badly. The game is well under way now, and I didn’t go out to pick up Chinese food earlier when I should have. I am very hungry and don’t know if I can hang on until halftime. I have stuff here to make chili, but I don’t want to wait and I want Chinese because my friend in Alaska was ranting on the phone last night because she can’t get Chinese in Fairbanks. (Several Thai restaurants, though. Odd, that.)

I will have some Havarti and crackers with a beer and continue to wring my hands for the time being.

    @Mike J:

I hate the “dramatic” close-ups. They give you an über-close head shot of someone—they do it a lot in baseball, too—which means you can’t tell jack shit about what is going on, except that athletes in tense situations have tense expressions on their faces. Stop the presses. Plus most people have big enough TVs now that they could pan out a bit and show you the context and still get the “drama” of someone’s face.

Maybe, but not the places I want. Hunan Village, which does excellent egg foo young (and other stuff), doesn’t deliver over here—but they do to Sighthound Hall, which is very close to your daughter and SIL, so I recommend it to them. The other situation is even more tragic: I can practically see Fortune across Arlington Boulevard from certain places on my street, but they don’t deliver. And they are one of the best Chinese restaurants in the metro area. But they don’t do egg foo young, as I found when I got bum-rushed out of there one time for even asking. Maybe it’s a Cantonese thing (with them, not the egg foo young).

@redshirt: I didn’t see the play specifically, but generally, if the offensive player with the ball stops forward momentum inbounds and is forced out by the defense, the clock keeps running. If the offensive players forward momentum takes them out of bounds, the clock stops. The clock stopping is to the advantage of the offense, so they are required to earn it.

Again, generally speaking – rules change inside the 2 minute clock at end of 2nd & 4th quarters.

Bruce Wayne (and other earthlings) are somewhat worried about a Super Man who can fly around and use powers. They throw the word “alien” around a lot when talking about him. They don’t know he’s good (remember, in their universe there are no superman or batman comic books). Even Batman isn’t trusted by many people, he is considered a dangerous and deranged vigilante.

Without any inside knowledge or spoilers, this movie is rediculously easy to predict:

Act 1: Batman doesn’t like Superman, eventually they fight to end the first act. Batman surprises Superman with some trick, but it doesn’t really matter because who can beat Superman? No one, that’s who.

Act 2: Batman and Superman learn they need to work together, against a common foe. Wonder Woman is introduced in this act to provide a false enemy.
