Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

This is dead girl, live boy, a goat, two wetsuits and a dildo territory.  oh, and pink furry handcuffs.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

Dumb motherfuckers cannot understand a consequence that most 4 year olds have fully sorted out.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

Now that the similarity of the GOP primary race to Wrestlemania is ‘out there’ in social media, and we have to talk about it, I might watch another one of these crazy shows if the two teams get in the same ring for a tag team match.

But I have to be assured that scenario would be good. I saw a clip of Wrestlemania where they had ladders and that was so cool. Guys were hitting each other over the head with the ladders, and they would climb to the top of the ladders and slug each other in the face.

I’m not really interested unless the GOP can top that.

The last debates I watched were the three presidential debates in ’08. I try to avoid right wing nonsense whenever possible; it used to be kinda funny, but now it’s just pathetically maddening. I don’t know why I skipped the Obama/Romney debates other than I was pretty sick of it all by then.

In October 1980, Kantner was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in serious condition from a cerebral hemorrhage. Kantner had been working in Los Angeles on an album when he became ill.

He was 39 years old at the time and beat considerable odds with a full recovery without surgery. A year later, Kantner talked about the experience, saying, “If there was a Big Guy up there willing to talk to me, I was willing to listen. But nothing happened. It was all just like a small vacation.”

It was his second brush with serious illness or injury, having suffered a serious motorcycle accident in the early 1960s: “I hit a tree at 40 miles an hour head first and nearly shattered my skull. I had a plate in there for a while.” The injury from the motorcycle accident was credited with saving Kantner from serious complications from the cerebral hemorrhage; the hole left by the accident relieved the accompanying cranial pressure.

I mark an Airplane show as the beginning of the end of rock for me for a couple of decades. It was probably 74 or so and someone had printed a couple of hundred counterfeit tickets all for the same seat in the Assembly Hall at Illinois. The cops were chasing people all over the joint and lots got thrown out. The thing that really killed it, and shows in general, was that they decided to make people sit down. . .for an Airplane show! Years lated I got back on it with a few Dead shows before Jerry died but the 70’s and 80’s were dead to me.

What a clusterfuck shitshow fail parade America has become. Now the latest great idea: set up a site to crowdfund people’s astronomical medical bills. Because this sick joke of a country can’t manage to set up the same nationalized single-payer health care system every other advanced country uses:
Crowdfunding site helps pay patients’ medical bills

Hey! Here’s a brilliant idea! We could extend this!

Instead of taxes, we could hold bake sales whenever we need to build a bridge or a dam. And then we set up a lemonade stand to fund our military! And then we could sell brownies if we need to fund the National Institute of Health…

The so-called country misnamed America is such a bizarre joke, it’s like watching a bunch of three-year-olds trying to operate a nation. Beyond absurd. The world points at us and laughs with mixed disgust and disbelief.
