I've been thinking about what has happened. And I conclude the biggest factor is that Hillary Clinton learned how to listen. That's a BFD.
— AlGiordano (@AlGiordano) March 16, 2016
It's a big deal because my fellow New Yorker Donald doesn't get the "listening thing" and this is his greatest weakness.
— AlGiordano (@AlGiordano) March 16, 2016
Clinton supporters learned delegate math in 2008. Now they are burdened with passing down this math to Sanders supporters in 2016.

How that quip go? Education is what you get by reading the fine print; experience is what you get when you don’t…

Cole is right to get rid of that horrible hand photo that used to be his Twitter handle.

It a battle of math vs. raging self-righteousness.
My money’s on math.

I guess AL is trying for another “She reads me!” from Cole.

Hillary learns. That is absolutely clear to me. She has general liberal principles, but she does not stand still. That is a rare and wonderful trait in a politician. She learned a lot from her time in the Obama administration, and both her political strategy and her policies reflect it.
Nate Dawg
@redshirt: the lurid digs selfie? Definitely right.
And Google lurid digs if you’d like a NSFW laugh.

Al Girodano likes Balloon Juice too!

@Emerald: And so does Al Giordano.
NotMax
For those who may not have seen it earlier, un-effin’-believable.
opiejeanne
@NotMax: Saw that, thought it was pretty low. Then today he offers the threat of a riot at the convention if he isn’t the nominee, even if he’s 100 delegates short. What’s he going to offer if he loses the general election?
Amir Khalid
@NotMax:
Fortunately, some of the contract’s more burdensome provisions don’t seem enforceable.
@opiejeanne:
I hope there aren’t enough Americans who want a President Trump so badly that they’d riot in the streets if nominee Trump lost. I would be very disappointed in America if there were.

@BillinGlendaleCA: Selfie?
OzarkHillbilly
@NotMax: Perfectly believable.

@Poopyman: A poorly done one.

Splitting Image
@Amir Khalid:
To me, the $64 question is whether Trump voters will have the patience to wait until November before they start rioting. If they start the fireworks at the convention, they’ll pretty much guarantee that he’ll lose in the general. And I think that even if he cruises to the nomination at this point, his fanatics will complain that the haters actually made delegates cast their votes before acclaiming King Donald as rightful Emperor of the World.
OzarkHillbilly
Are you Experienced?
BillinGlendaleCA
Hmmm, quiet morning.

@BillinGlendaleCA: Now I want a camera like that, awesome! Your hair in that pic is my natural hair color, so that makes me wonder what color mine would be in infrared.
BillinGlendaleCA
@satby: My natural hair color is a medium/light brown(eh, and grey), it’s dyed black.

Good morning all. First day in a month I actually feel like I’m finally getting over that nasty cold/pneumonia I had. Breathing is nice.
Germy
@Amir Khalid:
But hasn’t Trump promised this?
BillinGlendaleCA
@Chyron HR: I guess Cole got rid of all the Baud! supporters.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If it’s not a total zoo, I’m taking the girls to an Irish pub for dinner tonight, where I will order corned beef, but they will probably get shepherds pie, because I’ve made that before. They missed the parades in Chicago (I’m a SouthSider, so two for us) and the green river. They were away at a Key club convention last weekend, so this is my only chance to give them a glimpse of the US version of St. Patrick’s.

The Economist Intelligence Unit reckons Trump getting elected president is one of the top 10 risks facing the world.
satby
@BillinGlendaleCA: You did! I’ve had it before (asthmatic) so I don’t try to soldier through if I feel it coming on, I get right to the doctor and catch it early. But it still felt like crud.
OzarkHillbilly
@satby: Oxygen is over rated. Good to hear you’re feeling better.
Elizabelle
@satby: Those girls have got be having such a good stay. Did they enjoy hanging out with your son?
Sounds like you have exposed them to a lot more than a lot of homestay homes. And in a good sense!
Mary
@Amir Khalid: None of the “contract” is enforceable unless the volunteers are actually getting some sort of consideration in return.
NotMax
@Amir Khalid
Enforceability is a side issue. That the campaign would draft, present as valid and demand signature to such a thing which is the odious tell.
Mike R
@Mary: Well from The Donald’s point of view being allowed to represent his wonderful self is more compensation and consideration than mere mortals deserve. Hence an iron clad contract of eternal servitude. Seriously though, it is just an indicator of how low the republic has sunk and a real world example of the nastiness of the electorate.
Barbara O'Brien
@Frankensteinbeck: Hillary doesn’t learn. She’s still the same triangulating,neoliberal hawk she always was. I absolutely cannot understand what anyone to the left of her buddy Henry Kissiner sees in her. But now that Balloon Juice has become an official Hillarybot Rah Rah site, I’ll be staying away.
Aimai
@Barbara O’Brien: oh stay away already then. My morning isnt complete without anothe GBCW post from some aggrieved pseudo leftist.
satby
@Barbara O’Brien: don’t let the door hit you….
satby
@OzarkHillbilly: Thanks. This time I really do.
@Elizabelle: I hope they are. I would like to be able to do more with them, but they are getting a sense of how non-middle class people here live, for sure. And yes, they had a great time with the son and daughter-in-law. They hit the Art Institute, did a little shopping, and went to a Middle Eastern place for lunch one day, vegged out and did a film fest the other. They love the city.

@NotMax:
You know what this reminds me of? That creepy pledge that the Kansas Republican Party demanded its members sign saying “I will at no point in the future find cause to transfer my party loyalties.”
As with everything else with Trump, there’s ample precedent for it in the Republican Party’s recent history, even though the official line remains that the Trump phenomenon just inexplicably appeared out of thin air less than a year ago.
Jeffro
@Chris:
Creepy is right!
Sorta on-topic: isn’t there some state legislature considering a bill where if a member of the leg even introduces a bill to confiscate firearms, that’s an automatic felony (the act of introducing the bill)?
Ah yes, I thought so http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/lawmaker-criminialize-proposing-anti-gun-laws-article-1.1268069

@Barbara O’Brien: well, that might be better than hanging around here with your fingers in your ears and your eyes shut.

@Barbara O’Brien: One big difference between your blog (where I sometimes lurk) and this one is that there are tons of sports fans here. They get into things to win, and Bernie does not look like that good a bet in the general. I think that’s most of what you’really seeing right now, up to and including the heckling (think ball fans booing the ump).
Personally, I’m skeptical about Hillary for some of the reasons you list but don’t see an alternative. So I’ll be canvassing, donating and the rest, all while hoping I’m going to proven wrong about the stuff I doubted.
PJ
@the Conster, la Citoyenne: This website is not your little club. Every day you post invective insinuating that Sanders and anyone who supports him (or who might like a more, rather than less, liberal country than the one we have now) is a racist. I am not a fan of Clinton for foreign and economic policy reasons (and also because she genuinely seems to like sucking up to Republicans and war criminals), but people like you make me think her presidency would be a terrible mistake.
Uncle Ebeneezer
The bigger lesson of 2008 was that you won’t win the Democratic nomination without the votes of Black people. This has been stated clearly by countless bloggers and pundits with supporting electoral data. Bernie knew (or should have known) this from very early on. Convincing Black voters to ditch HRC and vote for him should have been his primary goal and the focus of his campaign.
Chyron HR
@PJ:
It’s so terrible how Sanders’ supporters come here to complain about, and I quote, “tap dancing house negroes voting for Clinton” and get called racist for NO GOOD REASON. How can anybody deny the Stalinist purge taking place before our very eyes?

@inventor: Oh look, an asshole.
