Aw hell no!
Miss Bianca
OMG, *another one*? Who the hell was the Wiley-E-Coyote-SUPERGENIUS who decided that one of the problems with DWS was that “she didn’t schedule enough debates”? Could this have been some sneaky revenge thing against her haters? (“Debates, Town Halls…they want ’em, they’ll choke on ’em”).
LAO
No.

Anybody here actually watching?
Reading the liveblog, watching St. Louis v. Chicago game 7.

[‘Are people actually choking to death from townhalls or something?’]

I don’t know if this makes me an uneducated voter but I haven’t seen a single debate except for a bit of an R one a few months back. I don’t care. I already know who I’m voting for and there is nothing that will change my opinion, so why bother?
I’ll honestly say I don’t care about the issues anymore either. I only care about keeping Republicans out of power, at all costs.
david10
There are still Bernies-and MSM scum-who are moaning about the lack of debates. They are so mistaken. By the time this is over we’ll be giving DWS a medal for conspiring to spare us the torture.
Baud
I may check later to see if people have figured out new questions to ask.
PsiFighter37
Listening to Bernie go on haranguing about breaking up the banks and having no idea how to do it?
No thanks.
david10
A claim could be made that it’s a good way to get free exposure but since no one watches-or listens-except political junkies who’ve already made up their minds, what’s the point?
Jim, Foolish Literalist
flipping between the town hall (HRC) and hockey– she’s talking about process too much. both of the she’s
Eric U.
just got a call from a bernista urging support for the “only Democratic candidate that didn’t take corrupt Wall Street money.” I didn’t react well.

Blues with the early lead…
So that the eventual meltdown can be extra painful.
Baud
@Jim, Foolish Literalist: That’s always been Rachel’s problem. She did that last time I saw her interview Hillary.
Mike J
Bernie is actually winning. No really. Cut it out you guys, he’s really winning!
Linnaeus
Watching Blues vs. Blackhawks right now. Very exciting game so far.
peej01
I watched the last debate. That was enough for me. I spent a lot of time yelling at the tv to get Bernie to shut up and stop interrupting.
Miss Bianca
@efgoldman: Word on the street is that the Red Wings are out. This ex-Detroit girl haz a sad.
Linnaeus
And just like that, Blues up 2-0 in the first.

@Baud:
The answer is no, you’re welcome.
Thoughtful David
@redshirt:
I’m at the same place. I’ve been thinking about changing my nym, because I am no longer thoughtful, I’m rabid. All I care about is KEEPING THOSE FLICKERS OUT OF POWER.
eemom
Psst….wouldn’t tell anybody but you guys — but frankly I wish Bernie would STFU and go away.

BillinGlendaleCA
I watched the first debate, after 30 minutes of Bernie YELLING and point his finger at me; I was ready for Hillary.

HRC says she wants to shift the focus of the Dem party from running for president every four years to one that focuses on state and midterm election– doesn’t say how, but I think it was a good answer to ‘how will you change the party?’
Linnaeus
@Miss Bianca:
Sadly, the word on the street is correct.
opiejeanne
@eemom: Hahaha! I love you.
My husband insisted on turning on the Hillary town hall but we caught the tail end of Bernie’s, in which he coyly would not answer the question about whether he’d consider having Hillary in his administration or vice versa. Bleh.
Major Major Major Major
@eemom: No, no, you’re a good neoliberal person, which makes you a bad person.
Try to keep up.

@Roger Moore: Those little buggers pound on the metal stop signs in the early morning and peck holes in my birch trees.
(Really, I love them)
LAO
@Linnaeus: it’s not over yet! Only down by 1.
ThresherK (GPad)
Listening to Chi-StL game 7 streaming. I got listening to AHL hockey on the radio as a kid, and there’s something about the crowd sound which follows the action and creates a great “picture”.

@Mike J: Hahaha! Shared.

@Major Major Major Major:
I’m pretty sure that the rules of English forbid you from using the word “person” with “neoliberal”. The only acceptable noun after that adjective is $hill. Neoliberal $hill.
MomSense
The town halls are on while I’m doing chores. So much laundry.
My son keeps calling me to tell me he likes Hills’ answers.
Baud
@Mike J: That’s cold, man.

I just want to know at what size they should be broken up.

Hillary namechecks her friend Ed Rendell…. I feel the Bern at last
(not really, but I do hate that fucker)

@LAO:
Oh, I know it’s a long, long way from over.

@Jim, Foolish Literalist: Is he still popular in Pennsylvania?
I also am not fond of him.

Yes, streaming on my iPad. It cuts out briefly every few minutes, but I can live with that.

@Jim, Foolish Literalist: Ah yes, 2008. Hated Rendell too.
Anne Laurie
@SiubhanDuinne: Should’ve known I could count on you!

i like the way Trump says “collooow-sion”. Lewis Black alsouses the liquid-U for comic effect, but it’s intentional
ETA: @redshirt: and 2009, 2010, 2011….
Ed Rendell is one hate-able mofo

Did anyone ask Bernie about his tax returns? Has he even released a full year’s return yet?
I can’t believe how happy I was when Bernie first threw his hat in the primary ring. I feel like I fell for some sort of Hippie Warrior mirage.

Hillary just took a knife out of her boot and asked Rachel, “do you feel lucky, punk!?”
Definitely a strong move.
Mike J
@David ?Canadian Anchor Baby? Koch:
Rachel Ray? Cause I thought Bey had that covered.
Exurban Mom
I have been happily popping the popcorn and enjoying the Republican craziness. Given the polling data, I’m of the mind that Trump is going to take the nomination. All this posturing by other candidates is much too little, too late. So I will be interested to see how many of the Rep naysayers fall in line, and how many either give up or call for a third party challenge. Hillary has looked presidential throughout the proceedings. Glad she will be our nominee.
Omnes Omnibus
@Mike J: That is reputed to be Rachel Roy, not Ray.
Elie
Feel really impressed with the Hillary team in terms of prepping me (and other Hillary delegates) for our County Convention this Sunday. Email, good phone and a training with a for real slide deck and Q&A. She aint taking anything for granted and this is Bernieland in WA state. I am ready to roll!
Mike J
@Omnes Omnibus: That’s not nearly as funny.
Frankensteinbeck
@David ?Canadian Anchor Baby? Koch:
Did she feel lucky?
BillinGlendaleCA

Omnes Omnibus
@Mike J: Sorry man.

Hmm, the link does not provide any video of the town hall.
Miss Bianca
@Elie: Wow, that’s cool. That’s more than we got in CO. Maybe the campaign saw what happened there and decided to step up its game.

@Baud: I want someone to ask Trump about how helpful it would be for the president to carry grudges.
And then ask if Trump ever carries a grudge.

@Jim, Foolish Literalist: Not going to mean anything if she can’t tell you very specifically how she’s going to do it.

Hillary is now smoking a cuban cigar and just told Maddow, “say hello to my little friend”.
Hiring Vince Gilligan as a speech writer is already paying dividends.

Sanders implores “the poor, dumb people watching MSNBC” to vote for him tomorrow.
the common touch in action.
SiubhanDuinne
Question for anyone who was watching the Clinton townhall: There was a young AA woman seated behind her, very beautiful, wearing a grey suit, whose facial expression hardly moved during the course of the hour. She literally didn’t react to anything HRC said; at times, I actually wondered if it was a lifesized cardboard cutout, and then she would blink. I found it odd, to say the least. Might she have been a staffer or maybe a SS person? Did anyone else notice her?

Can’t we have another rethuglican debate? Pleeeeeease? Bernie has been walking things back in the last few days, and there’s no point in watching hours of candidates being polite.
I wanna see the newly-announced Cruz-Kasich tag team throw down with Baby-hands Trump. Marco “I’m still winning!” Rubio can wait in the wings with his 140-delegate folding chair and do a supporting turn.
Frankensteinbeck
I really wish both candidates had avoided taking whacks at each other during this Town Hall, but I admit it was a big reduction in negativity, so good for them.
opiejeanne
@Elie: You’re in WA too? King County? We are both delegates for Hillary.

Ugh. I have all the ingredients to make a nice stir-fry tonight, and the goddamned weather gave me a fucking migraine and I don’t trust myself to cut food and not my fingers. So it’s a frozen burrito, a Coke (hecha en Mexico), more Excedrin, and bed for me.
Omnes Omnibus
@BillinGlendaleCA: That didn’t help.

Sorry so late in response! Dinner, Hubbie talk! Yes, I am in Whatcom County WA
Elie
@opiejeanne:
Yay! Have you had the same experience with the organization (Hillary campaign)?
Elie
@Miss Bianca:
Sorry so late in response, but yes, its seems that the boots on the ground are much more, active. present? Whatever, I am happy that this is true because we will need to be on our toes…..

@Elie: Before the Legislative Caucus, a week ago, yes; contacted us six times that week. It’s been quiet this week other than an email pitch for money, but it’s only Monday. I’m sure we will hear something soon.
We intend to go, after seeing the way the other side behaves, and especially after Jeff Weaver’s threat to shift a handful of Hillary’s delegates in WA to Bernie. That was right after the NY primary last Tuesday.
