Tinky Winky is still gay and Jerry Falwell is still dead, just sayin.

John, out of my own curiosity do you have a master list of everyone who has written a front page post, guest or otherwise, here at BJ? I can come up with 22 at this point. More than I expected.

@bystander: It’s actually pretty good. If you suffer from insomnia, it might be of some use. We should have Betty watch it.
I wonder how many followers will understand the Falwell/Tinky-Winky connection.
Did a rewatch of The Prisoner in the post-teletubbies era. There doesn’t appear to be a video mashup. The Avengers Complete Emma Peel Collection on DVD is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

@Starfish: It’s missing some part timers and retirees, but I did omit Dennis G. I’m up to 27 in my list. I’ll just assume it’s been about 30.
@If you suffer from insomnia, it might be of some use. We should have Betty watch it.
I was just reading Kevin Drum’s post on Mother Jones about how his meds are keeping him from sleeping. Somehow I think the off key singing and murky print are more disturbing than soothing.
17.
Ultraviolet Thunder
I watched that and now I have to go outdoors in the sun for a while.
@bystander: Maybe the original series would be better. Goran Ivanisevic you to watch the telletubbies when he played on the tour.

perhaps it was because I was just the correct stage of puberty but Emma Peel was the hottest woman I know. I love strong women who can take the lead & don’t need a man to cover for them, Princess Leia, Ms. Peel, my wonderful bride. Too bad Hollywood is not a fan. I really should buy a DVD set of the actual, real Avengers.

I see Hillary has said on the TV that she will be the Democratic nominee, and it’s pretty much done and dusted. That wouldn’t seem controversial or arrogant to me, since Nate Silver and Sam Wang and others already said it weeks or months ago. But how is the mainstream media there reporting it?
@Amir Khalid: Most of the MSM I’ve glimpsed today are doing “Hillary is doomed because Trump’s caught up in this one poll and all the youngsters hate her for being mean to Bernie.” In other words, the usual.
28.
PsiFighter37
@JPL: I think most folks are over his old white man WATB act.
She should focus solely on Trump going forward. Put in a little face time in California, but otherwise, it’s time to start nuking Orange Julius’ brother from another mother full-scale.

But how is the mainstream media there reporting it?
I see that MoDo sank her claws into that item today but I cannot tell you what she said, because wild horses could not drag me to click on that toxic, seething tw*t.
@Mary G:
I am expecting to see stunned silence and babbling shock on election night when Hillary wins in a landslide, even more than I saw in 2012. It baffled them that the polls were right, when it was obvious to them that America wanted a return to the Reagan years, and a black Democrat just could not beat a rich white Republican. It will be impossible to them that a woman can beat a man, and that Hillary Clinton, who they personally loathe and will do everything to destroy, could be loved by so many people.

@Schlemazel Khan: Emma peel and Yeoman Rand from the original Star Trek both at about the same time. Oh my.
@Amir Khalid:
No one will care. The instant Romney lost, nobody cared how he felt about it, not even the media.
EDIT – Well, there was some gaping from the hardcore political junkies – us – that he had scheduled a victory celebration and it took him a lot of time to make the concession call. But nobody cared what he thought, only that he had been so incredibly dumbass as to believe he was winning.
@Amir Khalid: I lost a bet on this subject recently. Technically, Trump ran for President in 2000 for the Reform Party. A technicality, to be sure, but still, a fact.

@Schlemazel Khan: Holy Shite! Amazon has the Emma Peel Megaset for $22. I may have to grab that to give as a gift.
Remember, the four most romantic words are not “Will you marry me?” but “Mrs. Peel We’re needed!”
and it took him a lot of time to make the concession call.
Even if he thought he might lose, he didn’t think he’d be done by Ohio. Nobody had prepared for a concession speech the day of the election – everyone thought it’d be the next morning.

Back from a charter trip. We caught a half-a-dozen red snapper, a blue runner, trigger, some vermilion and I caught a big gag grouper that is not in season. Not a spectacular day but a good one!
@Frankensteinbeck:
I suspect that the response to Hillary is going to be a bit more measured this time. She’s been in Washington enough now to qualify as an insider, while Trump is definitely an outsider. That means some of the people who worried about interlopers coming in and ruining the place are going to be on Hillary’s side this time.

More appropriate here than it was on a thread a bit earlier –
Luis Estrada is my new fave amongst contemporary directors.
His deftness at edgy, cynical social message comedy, just skirting the boundaries of farce, while maintaining a lightness of tone in even harrowing scenes is a crash lesson in film making.
Only two movies of his currently on Netflix, but check ’em out.

I think a more interesting mashup (or whatever the right term is that you hipsters use) would be a Sam Peckinpah/Tim Burton/Teletubbies vid set to Love Will Tear Us into Tiny Little Bits & Pieces with Lots of Blood Apart
That falls squarely into IOKIYAR territory. People like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will never qualify as insiders, no matter how much time they spend in Washington. Trump will get free and complete etch-a-sketch privileges from the press while every line of Hillary’s will be parsed over like the Talmud at a yeshiva to find gotcha-ya bait.
