I’m splitting my attention between this and the NHL. I am a bit surprised at Venezuela’s success. I expected a bit more from La Celeste.
I am usually a fan of the Sky Blues unis, but those four stripes at the hem might be a bit much.

The Urus missed their bite in both games so far.

By FIFA rankings, that ought to be called a genuine shock, but Uruguay were just not good enough and never looked it. Cavani should have scored in the 89th, but Venezuela could have had two or three more by then on the counter.
Gaston Ramirez is a free agent right now, and was hoping that the Copa would be the ideal stage for him to attract a nice deal from a Premier League club. He didn’t play badly, but his agent probably won’t be happy that he’s going home after Jamaica.
