Here you go…and it’s not even opening tip-off yet.
I’ll be watching while finishing up a few things I need done before I start the new week…I hope it’s a nail-biter.

Time for a Cole post.
Mr Stagger Lee
As a Cleveland Sports Fan I want to see something not done in 51 years, a championship,but I bet God is a Steeler fan and will send a meteor. Or Klay Thompson turns into Michael Jordan and Curry into Magic.
Benw
I honestly have no idea how this one’s gonna go. I’m okay with either of these teams winning, they’ve both played some great ball. Hoping for a good game!
Starfish
Thank you for the papaya fish recipe thing on Friday. I made it tonight, and it worked for me.
redshirt
@raven: Heh. Exactly. No posts for 7 hours and then 3 posts within 10 minutes.
Welcome to BJ!
redshirt
@Mr Stagger Lee: Gad help me I’m rooting for you. Not for Lebron, but for Cleveland. Everyone needs to win something eventually!
raven
@redshirt: I was able to take 15 years off ti be a Braves fan, now I can go back to the Cubbies!
ThresherK
The solstice is tomorrow. Is this a normal day for NBA Finals’ game 7? Seems a bit late.
WaterGirl
@tybee: I just love the crocheted part that hangs from the basket ring, don’t you?
raven
@ThresherK: Yes
WaterGirl
@efgoldman: You sound jaded!
Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant)
Go Dubs!
raven
@WaterGirl: $20 K raised so far.
Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant)
@ThresherK: They spread the games out more this year, three days between games.
raven
@Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant):
TaMara (HFG)
@Starfish: Glad to hear that. I’m making hamburger pepper gravy for dinner tonight. Don’t judge me – it’s been a rough weekend and that’s comfort food.
raven
The final was June 25th in 1999.
Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant)
@raven: Good catch, my mistake.
raven
@Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant): I had to look but I knew they had gone pretty late in the past.
The Ancient Randonneur
@raven: AL is subbing for Cole tonight.

@raven: Were you really a Braves fan? Are you now truly a Cubs fans? When the Braves played the Cubs in 2004, who did you root for? And was it real?
Joel
Love a close game seven. Feels vintage; plenty of fast breaks, but also lots of work in the paint. Something we haven’t seen much of this finals.
raven
@redshirt: I moved here from Urbana 32 years ago and was on the road when the Cubs pitched to Garvey with 1st base open and went on to lose the series. I was in Fulton County Stadium when Lopes was going for the stolen base record and they Braves ground crew watered the bas paths and he fell and got thrown out. I went to a playoff game in 2004 and honestly didn’t know who I was for until I got in. The thing is that when you live somewhere like Atlanta and they have that incredible run, it’s hard to follow a team that is terrible. I actually could not name one player on the Cubs now but I’s like to see them do well. I have not watched one baseball game this year but I’ve seen almost every Euro and Copa. Also, this is really the first NBA game I’ve watched start to finish (if I finish.)
Mr Stagger Lee
Boy those Threes by Golden State, is killing me.
HinTN
@TaMara (HFG): Nothing wrong with hamburger pepper gravy!
ThresherK
@raven: Now I’m allllllmost interested enough to look up the variance in NBA playoff lengths year per year. The series weren’t always the same best-of-3, 5, 7, and there must have been some shortened by sweeps.
raven
@ThresherK: Click on the year here and it gives you the skinny,
Aleta
Born in East Cleveland, would be happy for Cleveland if they win. But the Cavs don’t seem enough grounded yet.
raven
What a horseshit call on Curry.
Corner Stone
@The Ancient Randonneur: You still hiking the Appalachian Trail?

@Mr Stagger Lee:
It seems God is using Green as his agent. He’s playing out of his mind. It’s the difference in the game.
Bubblegum Tate
My name is Bubblegum Tate, I’m an Oaklander, and I think Draymond Green is a piece of shit. Fuck that guy.
ThresherK
@raven: Thanks. I’m feeling too lazy to Yahoogle anything tonite.
Corner Stone
@Bubblegum Tate: The face Klay Thompson makes about 99% of the time makes me want him to just sit the fuck down.
“Maybe his feelings got hurt.” Shut up you fucking dbag.
Corner Stone
What Paul Pierce is not saying there is, “Move, bitch, get out the way. Get out the way, bitch. Get out the way.”
Poor choice even though I love me some Luda.
different-church-lady
@raven: basketball: a sport where you can get called for a foul for just standing there when an opposing player runs you over.
rikyrah
Rooting for Lebron.
Bubblegum Tate
@Corner Stone:
Klay Thompson is the biggest sore loser since 10-year-old me. Just take your L like a man and move on, dude.
eclare
@rikyrah: Same here. Not an NBA fan, but like him.
Misterpuff
@different-church-lady: I believe the foul is for not just standing there,
different-church-lady
@Misterpuff: That one was.
different-church-lady
Tied again. Instant classic.
debbie
Don’t know where everyone’s gone, but this is some game!
raven
@debbie: we’s here
Gin & Tonic
@debbie: Too busy watching to type.
Corner Stone
Tears.
debbie
I’m almost crying! LeBron’s block was unbelievable!
TaMara (HFG)
Wow.
debbie
Almost as much gunfire as New Years Eve here.
Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant)
Well, that’s that. Cavs earned it. Dubs will be back.
Mr Stagger Lee
51 years in the making!!!!! To quote Al Michaels, DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES? YESSSS!!!!
LeBron James now replaces Jim Brown as the new sports king of Cleveland.
Big Picture Pathologist
I would have preferred Cleveland go 0-for-Wahoo, but some GSW players were so classless after Game 5 RE: LeBron that I’m glad it bit them in the ass. The Midwest could use as much good news as it can get, too.
Ajabu
This was the first time my wife & I were on different sides. I was for GSW (we’re in No. Cal after all) and she was all Cleveland.
Thing is, I’ve always loved LeBron – both as a player and as a man – so if the Warriors had to lose I’m glad it was him. And he just got MVP. I Love That!
And it was a hell of a finals game. Congrats to both teams!!
Aleta
So nice that Lb is an Ohio boy. Ohio!
Corner Stone
“I guess he got his feelings hurt.”
/Klay Thompson after thinking that trash talking bullshit finished off a competitor.
Tinare
Congrats Cleveland!
eclare
All sorts of awesome….
rikyrah
Congratulations King James ??
West of the Rockies (been a while)
I don’t like Green and am glad GS lost… Reminds me of the thuggy Bill Lambier/Rasheed Wallace sort. I’m kind of old school also and don’t dig the three point barrage GS relies on so heavily.
Joel
Without a doubt, my favorite non-rooting-interest championship of all time.
A fucking grinder of a game seven, too. The best kind.
Carolina Dave
@different-church-lady: golf, where a penalty can be called with you standing over the ball.
Exurban Mom
Sitting her in a suburb south of Cleveland in utter shock and disbelief. The town is celebrating….so far, just a few instances of property damage, no other problems. Wow wow wow.

So there’s this sport called basketball. During the winter it’s too cold to play football or baseball, so a guy named Naismith came up with this game called basketball to be played in a gym indoors during the cold, snowy winter months.
The world championship game of this basketball sport was just played – on the day before the summer solstice.
People stayed inside in an arena, or in front of their television, to watch this game, and the numerous games leading up to it, on fine spring evenings in May and June.
People are strange.

@Exurban Mom: YYYYAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

My 35 year old son born in Akron, packed up the family in St Louis where he lives and drove home on Friday in order to be in Cleveland Sunday night. . Along with a group of his high school friends, they got some hotel rooms, went to the Indians game and then joined the crowds to watch the the game while I watched the grandbaby. I thought he was crazy but memories for a life time.
