    I’ve figured out the breathing and funky jaw movement thing. As someone who’s done martial arts for over 30 years I would put good money on the fact that he’s been badly beaten or was in a bad accident that did significant damage to his face at some point. His nose has been broken, what we’re hearing is a badly deviated septum and if you look at him straight on, the tip of his nose is slightly angled to the left. If somehow Trump wins, I think the repubs will likely retain control of both houses. If Clinton wins, I think the Senate will change hands and the house probably will.     In a Thursday interview at the Republican National Convention, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asked Manafort how he planned to keep the Trump campaign’s strategy of intensely criticizing Hillary Clinton from alienating women.
    “It depends on which women you’re talking about,” Manafort said. “Many women in this country feel they can’t afford their lives. Their husbands can’t afford paying for the family bills.”
    “You said women are concerned about their husbands’ income?” Matthews pressed.
    Manafort grinned. “I can speak personally to that,” he replied.

    Indeed, I am so old that I remember when the NY Post was actually a decent newspaper…..but sadly not a profitable one, which is how Murdoch ended up buying it, at some point in the mid 1970s, and turning it into the piece of shit it remains 4 decades later. I also remember rather proudly that my late Dad had Murdoch’s number way back then, long before most of the world had even heard of the motherfucker.

    Between Trump’s NYT foreign-policy fiasco and the less-than-stellar reaction to his big speech tonight, I suspect Clinton will hold her VP announcement until Saturday or Sunday.

    She’ll probably tease it tomorrow though — or, rather, people around her will drop carefully orchestrated ‘oopsies’ and head-fakes.

    @Matt McIrvin: @SFAW: I agree it’s hard to imagine an example, but how about a backroom recording of him planning with a direct employee of Putin (not Manafort, obvs, ‘cuz that story’s out already, but some guy with a name like Igor Evilov, who has a thick Russian accent) to cede the entire world to Putin by 4 pm on Inauguration Day. It won’t touch his base of support, but every single voting-age person outside his tiny, tiny base will be leaping over people to vote against him.
