Francisco Goldman is reporting that the crime perpetrated against the nation of Mexico today is now being described in Mexico as the end of the PRI. The noose around their necks from which they will never recover from. To debase yourself and the nation by issuing the invitation in the first place and then standing next to said travesty offering no words of censure is contemptuous. The nation is not amused, and finds the Tweet cowardly. Nieto and the PRI are getting absolutely hammered in local media. Goldman pulled a Friedman and spoke of his cab driver’s rage on his way to the studio.

    While watching, did not understand why Peña Nieto wasn’t saying on live TV: No muro. Or words to that effect. He rattled off all kinds of trade statistics. There was a way to say “No wall. And paying nada, amigo.” Like Trump managed to say both nations reserve the “right to build a physical barrier.” Which was, yes, insulting Peña Nieto to his face. But Peña Nieto should have insulted Trump.

    Peña Nieto’s tweet was an attempt to make up for his wimping out on live TV. It has been effective. So, in the long run, Trump being shown a liar better for US. But for Peña Nieto speaking to the monster’s face would have made more sense.

    If this ends the power of the P.R.I. (Institutional Revolutionary Party, quite an internal contradiction there) it can only be for the good. Still a bit disappointed Trump left alive.

    1) That statement would be completely unacceptable about any other candidate, and should be unacceptable even about the orange shitweasel. We don’t need violence, we have the votes.
    2) Violence against Trump would let the Republicans off the hook and ultimately be bad for America by giving them a better shot at power.

    So the Trump revolution is going to fade. Yes, in all likelihood, mainstream Republicans will start using more Trump-like language. But the post-Trump GOP will look pretty much like the pre-Trump GOP.

    Unless he wins. Then his horrorshow of a presidency might destroy the party.

    I’m sorely disappointed that Peña Nieto didn’t confiscate Drumpf’s passport, shred it, and then set him loose naked in the Sonoran Desert to walk back to the States. I guess Nieto really is a dick.

    This invitation and his address at the podium has to be the second dumbest foreign policy decision this century. The first was starting the Iraq war by Bush.

    He may be impeached. The Mexican citizens seem ready to string him up. Honor is big down there.
