I rarely watch SNL, but tonight with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Trump-P@$$yGate, I won’t miss it. I have another forty-five minutes before it begins, so let me know if it lives up to it.

    This among other reasons is why I don’t think the leak came from the Clinton campaign. There seem to be too many journalists already on the case and the video is in their own vaults. Maybe the Clinton campaign has other scoops, or maybe they know where to point the MSM, but I don’t think the video itself directly came from them.

    @BR: If the campaign had given it to NBC, NBC would have run it. They would have had a better idea that it was being shopped around and known they would be scooped if they hesitated.

    My guess is a PA who kept a private reel, somebody who NBC didn’t think could actually get the attention of more media outlets.

    Since we’re talking about comedy, John Aravosis is up late, looking though wikileaks ‘transcripts’ of HRC speeches. He’s quickly building a strong case for many of the emails being fakes. Really, really obvious fakes.

    These are the leaks that horrible human being Roger Stone was gloating about shortly after his man Trump was humiliated in the first debate. They are amateurs. Inspector Clouseau would be a big step up in quality for them.

    It’s still deadly serious that they got this close, they got to within 30 days of winning and we are not home free. But they are also total dick-stepping morons, and thank pasta for that!

    @Mike J: This sort of thing, when there’s dirty B-roll, there’s usually a bin on the Unity (a folder on the editing computer network). Every staff editor and producer knows about it.

    On reality TV the prospect for leaks is a lot higher since all the editors are “predators” (producer-editors). They’re all non-union and low-paid.

    Should be clear now that our corporate media is utterly corrupt. Already strong evidence of tampering and forgery in previous released emails, which are probably from Democratic Party but doctored to look like from HRC State Dept. So, why report them out without noting the problems? No journalist reason, but they want balance to, I dunno, keep GOPers and Trumpers from getting too pissed off about horrible Trump BS and tuning out? Or worried about hurting the feelings of reactionary big advertisers. Or what? No good reason except that media orgs run by corporate conglomerates are corrupt.     If Pence really wants to “drop out” he should just go home, not say anything. They won’t be able to put someone else on the ballots if he doesn’t resign, may not be able to even if he did resign this late.

    Or only make appearances in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, within driving distance. That would mess with Trump more than anything else.
