Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The Giant Orange Man Baby is having a bad day.

And we’re all out of bubblegum.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Donald Trump, welcome to your everything, everywhere, all at once.

Wake up. Grow up. Get in the fight.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

“Why isn’t this Snickers bar only a nickel?”

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Another missed opportunity for Jamie Dimon to just shut the fuck up.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

The fundamental promise of conservatism all over the world is a return to an idealized past that never existed.

I thought we could use a little wind down after that excitement. What. A. Game.

Here is JeffreyW’s sleeping new pup, Gabe to help you take it down a notch.  I’m toast and done for the night.

I just watched the Cubs win the World Series. If the Browns win the Super Bowl in my lifetime I can die knowing I have seen it all. Bedtime now.

Wired as hell right now…working on a game idea I came up with recently that involves writing a faux operating system, so hopefully my brain will hit a logic saturation point and demand I go to sleep.
And I just broke up a raccoon fight in my backyard! I have 1 regular raccoon visitor that I feed every night (keeps him from coming into the house)…at 4am yesterday morning, I caught him swimming in my spa-turned-frogpond. This even, the 2nd raccoon made a rare appearance, followed by a THIRD raccoon! That’s where it got interesting. The third raccoon would growl and snap at one that was encroaching on his food. So the other one turns away from him and just backs his ass into the eating raccoon. Then the third coon got involved, at which point I broke it up. The hostile one went under my deck where it continued to growl at one above the deck. Not that I’d go near them (well, one is very friendly, but still….wild, rabies), but that hissing one isn’t necessarily rabid, right? I’ve never seen any in daylight, which I had heard was a sign of rabidity in nocturnals.

Well, that sounded like it was quite the exciting game. My older brother texted me to say that he cried. We’re an old Cubs family, so everyone is ecstatic. (Except G, because I’m in a mixed marriage — he’s a White Sox fan.)

If opiejeannie stops in, I decided to take my chances with Hotwire and got a hotel in Union Square for only $103 a night … the Sir Francis Drake. It must be fate!

Anyone in the Bay Area want to try for a brunch meetup on Saturday 11/19? Sadly, I have to be back at Oakland Airport by 6 pm for my flight home, so I can’t have dinner.

@khead: I want to see the Lions win the Super Bowl in my lifetime. I’m 53, so it had better happen before I’m too old to jump for joy (or too senile to care.)

For any Cubs fans who were planning on voting Trump, but had to see the small bears win to “die in peace”…

They won. Now get busy on those dirt naps.

Still awake, but I hope not for long. Between the World Series and the election (and some other, unrelated stuff), my sleeping schedule is completely borked. Hope to get back to normal after next Wednesday.

    Have a great trip.

As if the Cubs winning the world series isn’t enough of a statistical anomaly — what would be the odds against the player who won the World Series MVP last year for the Kansas City Royals with a .364 average winning MVP again this year — but for the Chicago Cubs with a 357 average? Ben Zobrist, Mr. clutch!

@patrick II: When it’s Ben Zobrist, the odds are pretty good! We used to call him “Zobie-Wan” when he played for the Rays — he was our only hope! ⚾️

They called the rain delay at 4:10 am my time, so I decided to pack it in. But it’s great to wake up to all these pictures of happy Bill Murray.

P.S. I am a very happy Cub fan. Also wistful as think of all the family and friends with whom I shared fandom who are not here anymore.
