Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

This really is a full service blog.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

The words do not have to be perfect.

Let there be snark.

Today’s GOP: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

NYC MEETUP

Looks like we’re going to have a good crowd! Besides socializing, people are psyched to discuss some post-election strategy. Please join us!

Date: This Monday, Nov 21
Time: 6:30 P.M.
Where: Joe’s Shanghai, 9 Pell Street
2 blocks south of Canal Street and just west of The Bowery. People can take the J Z N Q or 6 trains to Canal, walk east to Bowery and then south to Pell St.

Note – if the restaurant is too crowded or noisy we will move to another nearby. Arrive before 6:30 so you don’t get left behind!

My email will be spotty till then so if questions or concerns please email both me (hillaryrettig at yahoo dot com) and commenter Edith Silver (edithsilver1 at me dot com).

MONTCLAIR, NJ MEEUP CANCELED!

No one signed up so this Meetup is cancelled.

ROCHESTER, NY QUASI-MEETUP

Not a Meetup per se: I’m giving a workshop on Joyful and Effective Vegan Activism at the Rochester Vegan Association and you’re invited!

Vegan potluck starts at 5 PM.
My talk starts at 7 PM.

Event is free but preregistration required; space is limited so do it asap. (Venue and other info at the link.)

Hope to see some Juicers at this event!

Between the recent North Shore meetup and a planned NYC one, a fellow can hardly ask for anything closer, but I can’t pull myself away.

Regrets sent. Enjoy yourselves, post plenty of pix.

Edith here! Looking forward to meeting up! Actually did some recon and had dinner at Joe’s Shanghai last night. Yummy food, and noisy, but it was 9:30 on a Friday night. They have big round community tables that seat at least ten. Don’t know what the head count is at this point.

La Caterina and I will try to be there! (Mind you, I like our odds!)

Joe’s can be a bit of a tourist trap…has generally been crowded when I have been there in the past. Also, unless you have a hard head count and everyone is there, getting seated could take some time.

Not sure if I can make it or not – I must’ve missed a post on this earlier on…

This is going to be a long four years. Trump hotel people hold a meeting with foreign diplomats to describe how warmly it will make the Prez feel toward them and their countries if the diplomats stay at Trump’s hotel.

    some post-election strategy

Apparently, it’s the same as pre-election strategy. Attack Democrats.

Should Joe’s prove too crazy/busy, consider either Shanghai Cuisine (89 Bayard @ Mott) or Amazing66 (66 Mott btwn Bayard & Canal). Both are delicious and have plenty of veggie options & are usually less mobbed than Joe’s, but FYI: Shanghai Cuisine is cash only & Amazing66 is beer & wine only. Have fun for me – wish I didn’t already have plans for that night.

Nuts. I have some time off from work, but it’s because I’ve been unwell and am not at all sure I can make it to or through a meetup. If I can be there, I will, but if not, all y’all go get ’em!

Thanks for the alternatives! It may be too crazy there!

@RedDirtGirl: PS:The Xian Long Bao, crispy duckling, & sauteed bok choy are extra-good at Shanghai Cuisine, & Amazing66 has delicious winter melon soup & notable Peking Duck. And so many wonderful bakeries right nearby for custard tarts ! Damn, I’m so hungry now…

D’oh, one more: Shanghai Cuisine is at the corner of Mulberry & Bayard, not Mott.

Hi Everyone – Hillary checking in from Ithaca, NY. Saw everyone’s suggestions – thanks! Will make a note of alternative restaurants in case needed. Looking forward to seeing people Monday night.

9 hour drive (plus breaks) from Kalamazoo. Fortunately we didn’t get deluged on much during our drive but we did get some and saw some fricken amazing cloud cover.
