Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

Reality always gets a vote in the end.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

White supremacy is terrorism.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

the 10% who apparently lack object permanence

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Trump should be leading, not lying.

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Is trump is trying to break black America over his knee? signs point to ‘yes’.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

Here’s a shiny new post to get you all through the wee hours. Given the discussion in the comments to the previous thread, I reckon this is an appropriate musical choice.

Warren Zevon: Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner…

That said, Jethro Tull is appropriate. At one point early in the year I referred to His Trumpness as Aqualung: Eyeing little girls with bad intent.

Trump is going to tweet himself right into a mental institution.

Even my cats can see the man is seriously delusional.

@TriassicSands: don’t worry, the MSM will normalize all of that behavior for us and make it all seem benignly eccentric and not scary. Hell, before you know it, cops killing minorities and GOP legislatures denying black people and brown people the ability to vote will just become an everyday thing and we can return to our national slumber of “nothing to see here” and “well, that’s how it should be”.

Hi all! I’m slowly easing my way back into the news and blogs after a few weeks of mourning (and also a holiday with my mom. Wow, NZ is an awesome country! Definitely the place to flee to if you’re an american intent on leaving the States.).

Nothing much to report from down here except that 3 nights ago I seriously, honestly and legitimately dreamed that I was watching the news and the CIA had infiltrated Trump’s dentist’s office and offed him during routine dental surgery. I guess it’s as realistic as anything else going on right now.

@TheMightyTrowel: that’s probably an option that’s being explored since he’s refusing security briefings from OUR intelligence agencies, but is talking to and getting information from foreign cough{{{Russian}}}cough countries on unsecured lines…

Put my older spawn on a plane back home tonight after a great holiday with my sibs and their in-laws. Obsessively followed every BJ post and all comments ever since 11/8. And even so, sort of managed to keep up with work.

Time to crash, though. Maybe tomorrow will be A Shiny New Day.
