Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

“Why isn’t this Snickers bar only a nickel?”

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

Ron DeSantis, the grand wizard, oops, governor of FL.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Please don’t feed the bears.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

No Justins, No Peace

Bark louder, little dog.

Happy indictment week to all who celebrate!

“Look, it’s not against the rules anywhere, but a black woman with power was dating and there has to be something wrong with that.”

DeSantis transforming Florida into 1930s Germany with gators and theme parks.

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Can Barcelona maintain Catalan pride at home or will Real Madrid manage to make it six straight?

Who will get sent off first?

Forget that. There was a big dust-up at the end of the Man City-Chelsea match: two red cards, two yellows, probably big fines to follow.

    On a Saturday?

I’m a separatist at heart (Catalonia got a raw deal during unification) so Barcelona FTW!!

@Yutsano: I have been contracted to do a program in which I guest lecture as a native English speaker for high school students. It’s been a lot of fun.

@Steeplejack (tablet): Just read about it. Fernandinho has always been a bit of a hot head. I’m guessing he may not be back until after Carnaval, which would be March 1st.

@Randinho: Aguero is going to have to sit for a while too.

Dortmund is looking back on track, now up 4-1 on Monchengladbach after a great backheel by Reus to set up Aubemayang

@BillCinSD: At least four games in Agüero’s case.

Just guessing here, but did Costa instigate it and then make like Sir Robin?

I have a friend who has done this in Japan for 12 years. He’s said he’ll never return to the US for lots of reasons but part of it is because he loves his job. I’ve thought about it but nah. Being an ebil tax guy is kinda fun.

If only Suarez had learned to do that without biting people, he could still be at Liverpool.

Last minute equaliser! Real Madrid are level. They keep their six-point lead in La Liga.

Daniel Carvajal gave the Barça bench the finger after that. Classy.

@Yutsano: It’s been fun and I love the students, but not sure I will do it again if asked. The program is great and the students have embraced me. I have ober 250 FB friend requests drom them.

Ther is a high level of disorganization here. They were very slow in paying me and they routinely sprung additional classes on me at the last minute. We will see.

What’s going on at the London Stadium? In six minutes, the score has gone from West Ham 0-3 Arsenal to West Ham 1-5 Arsenal. And half the spectators have just up and left.
