The bus and the woods remind me of Northwest Trek (a wildlife park in WA), but the drivers don’t feed the bears or any other animal. The passengers seem to all be Asian, so maybe this is a wildlife park in Taiwan or elsewhere in Asia. If it’s like the one in WA the animals are never around hikers or campers.

@James E Powell: Gah!! In NY State at least, I think they put down bears that get fed/get that comfortable around two-legged snacks I mean humans.

@Adam L Silverman: It really looks like it; I’ve never even seen bears there, but I’ve only been twice and bears are not rare here.
One time we had a moose come up to the bus and put her head inside one of the open windows. That was a bit more exciting than most of us cared for. The driver told the people nearest the window to keep calm and it would leave. I think he was more worried about the moose injuring itself if people started freaking out and scared it.
There were elk, mountain goats that crossed the road right in front of the bus, buffalo. I don’t remember what else we saw. It was about 30 years ago.

@efgoldman: Yeah, those black bears look so cute and they’ll kill you just like a grizzly would. Grizzlies are shy, black bears are not. We have bears around the cabin, black bears because in California we’ve made our state animal extinct.
We also have had a bear around our house in Washington, four miles from the big Microsoft campus. The Wildlife people told everyone to just give it a wide berth, it was no big deal. I’m still astonished that they didn’t want to relocate it to a better place to find food. We don’t know what it was eating, maybe people’s fruit, apples and pears, and wild berries. This bear didn’t tip over trash cans while it roamed the area for 2 years.
@opiejeanne: A friend in swannanoah NC would regularly get bears during winter. And I was up in Tahoe with my roommate watching her dad’s place a few years ago and a bear tried to pop open the bathroom window when I was in there.

I get bear problems nearly every summer. I put up a temporary electric fence to keep them a safe distance from the house/vehicles. They ripped out a car window once and that was one time too many.

@EBT: AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
I’m very respectful of bears, knowing how dangerous they are. They terrify me.
@opiejeanne: What about a bear . . . dressed as a clown?

@Adam L Silverman: not NW Trek. Bears and wolves are not loose. Bison, elk and deer of various types as well as goats and sheep along tram ride.

This reminds me of a grim animal park in Hungary where you can feed honey to grizzly bears with a wooden spoon through a wire fence. It is deeply depressing and I won’t go there again.
I know why people think it’s NW Trek: the bus. Other places could have bought that exact bus too.

Hate to be the grammar police, but it’s “my Dad and me”. Used to get this wrong, myself. Drop out all but the me and see how it sounds. “Just I out for a hike.” vs. “Just me out for a hike.”

How is this a good thing?

@James E Powell: Well we got plenty of exercise. Also, someone sent along snacks in this lovely glass encased gift box…

We finally watched Kingsman. It’s gory and violent, but it’s a darn entertaining spy movie.

That’s hilarious.
I made four dozen cookies! Yum! We’ll see what they think of them at work.
