2017 pets of balloon juice calendar

…the 2017 Pets of Balloon Juice calendar is metaphorically on the shelves of the Balloon Juice shop at Cafe Press. You can follow the link at the right to place your order. All profits go to support the work of MARC, a non-profit organization of volunteer citizens concerned about the welfare of animals, created to assist people and animals live more humanely in Marion County, Tennessee, and to help ease the social burden of too many stray dogs and cats.

You should be able to view each month’s page before you buy the calendar. If you sent a photo in, take a moment to look through to make sure I got it in and I got the name correct. I can easily make corrections to the pages and I’d much rather do that, than have you be unhappy every time you look at the calendar. If you have any corrections, send them to me at bjcalendar2017 at yahoo dot com.

I want to thank everyone who sent in a photo or five this year. You make this possible.

    Walter! Yay! His rescue and transformation has been a real bright spot this year.

    When I clicked through I noticed there was no 2016 Pets of Balloon Juice calendar. Seems fitting for this year. Even the pets knew it would be awful.

    @dr. luba: You have to click on the text to see all the pages. You can magnify it a bit, but it will still be pretty small. Even so, I could pick out my critters and see their names.

    @Major Major Major Major: if i missed him, i will revise a page and let you know when it’s up so don’t buy a calendar yet! my external drive died about 98% of the way through downloading/placing the photos so it’s entirely possible i missed one or five.

    @Bobby D: Especially since black pets tend to not get adopted, and all of these guys, mostly rescues, did. Apparently the black pets are not photogenic. On the other hand, their fur does not show up on your business suit if that is what you wear to work.

    Thank you Beth. It’s so nice to see Oreo in his favorite spot among the Christmas display. We lost him to cancer exactly a year ago so this is very meaningful to me. Also fun to see our two dogs, one of whom is my namesake!

    (Even though I’m presently in Germany where it is warm, the food is yummy, the folks are hospitable, & I’m with my brilliant, intrepid and all around fantastic kiddo. I don’t want to return to the US. )

    Not, thankfully, in Berlin where the tragic attack on the WeihnachtsMarkt happened. So sad. And the worst part is, the right wing crazies will turn it into a reason for more of a propaganda war. Where have we seen this movie on re-reun?

    I was just reviewing the link and wanted to tell you to be careful to set your calendar to start on January. Currently it’s set to start on December 2016. I don’t know if that’s a thing i can force or a feature of cafe press (i only interact with cafe press once a year for this project) but watch out. 2017’s going to be tough enough without being short a month of balloon juice pet photos.

    Thanks so much for thinking one of my pics was good enough to include. I sent pics of all rescue critters instead of my own pets because Walter (and others) made this a year for rescues. All the pics are wonderful. So many great poses and personalities! Got to do some ordering!
