When Betty posted this morning about attending the Women’s March on Washington, I saw there were a lot of people going to local marches. There is one in Denver:
Women’s March on Denver
Any Colorado folk want to do a meet-up for the march. Even if I can’t make it, I’ll help organize it.
Why don’t we use this thread to see if we there is any interest for meetups in other cities.
And I’m hoping Betty C and anyone else going to the marches will live blog/tweet their adventures – or at least provide photos after the fact.
There will also be one in Seneca Falls, NY. https://www.facebook.com/events/1476514605711383/?ti=icl
Kansas City Washington Square Park (near Crown Center) 1-3 Saturday.
Seattle is planning one but the organizers don’t have the route yet. It’s to start at 10am, but we don’t know where yet. Seattle Women’s March
I’ll keep an eye on this thread and probably repost a couple of times in the coming weeks to update everyone on the local marches.
Looking for one in Phoenix. I see one in Tucson.
Comrade Colette Collaboratrice
San Francisco (with links to Oakland and San Jose). I’m going to attend and will also donate a little $$ for event costs. Speaking of which – whether you can attend your local march or not, please consider donating to it to offset organizational and permit costs.

A suggestion going around the Raleigh marchers is to wear your zip code across your back. We’ve had so many protests dismissed as “people bused in from California” that we want a definite statement of “We’re locals!”
Boston Women’s march
And Hilo, and Honolulu has one too.
ETA link fail: the link goes to the Hilo event, I don’t have the Honolulu link.
I am probably going to the Denver march. There are a number of busses coming from the northern suburbs, and there is a bus being brought up from Colorado Springs to get us if there is enough interest to fill the additional bus so I am waiting to get confirmation that I have a place on the bus.
State Capitol, Sacramento.
ETA the official site.
All over upstate New York.
I’ll be in DC. Carrying an American flag.
St. Louis: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/womens-march-on-st-louis-t-shirts-tickets-30301816549
9am, near Old Courthouse. You can get there on MetroLink.
Personally, I feel marched out, but it will be good to get out there and scream it out, too. And you don’t have to buy a damn t-shirt.
I can’t attend a march, but I’d sure like to buy a pu$$yhat, if only to casually toss it onto a chair when I walk into my Trumpster brother’s house.
The rally in Miami is at Bayfront Park. It’s accessible via MetroMover and there is parking — for a price — all over downtown Miami and at American Airlines Area.
Philadelphia, PA: https://www.facebook.com/events/1738095859846145/
There is one in Boise Idaho. Don’t know how to link so sorry if this doesn’t work. https://www.facebook.com/events/219761725124067/
There are at least three others in WA besides the one in Seattle: Olympia/Tacoma (not sure which city it will be held in), Yakima, and Spokane.
O. Felix Culpa
Santa Fe: Starting 11a.m. at the north side of the Bataan Building on W. De Vargas Street, proceeding to the Roundhouse (New Mexico State Capitol).
Trying linkie again: https://wmwsf.net/event/event-details/
I’ll be marching with friends in Eugene, OR.
I put together something for our placards & patches — the underlying rose is lifted from an uncredited photo of graffiti (otherwise I’d credit the artist/photographer). Feel free to use. http://imgur.com/a/d4GAw
San Diego, anyone? I’ll be with friends and family, but a meetup would be … way cool, as the kids are saying these days.
@Marvel: Excellent. Thanks.
OT.. Greta Van Susteren will host a show on MSNBC @ 6 pm
@JPL: Please be a joke please be a joke please be a joke
@Hungry Joe: We’re doing one! Might even be some people you know. Hit me up on FB.
@FlipYrWhig: Supposedly starts next Monday.
@JPL: Well I guess MSNBC really meant it when they made that whole lousy post-election ad about how the farmer and the cowman, er, I mean, the Democrat and the Republican should be friends.
chicago. starting at the petrillo band shell. http://womens121marchonchicago.org/
@TaMara (HFG):OK, Tamara, I may just have to come to Denver …depends how I feel after my colonoscopy…
I’m sad to say that this will actually be an improvement over ALL DUE RESPECT with Mark Halpern and sidekick, which is what it’s replacing. Kelly is being replaced on FOX by Greta’s last replacement. Tucker Carlson is moving from 10 to 9. Nice to see that both networks are intent on “improving” their lineups.

A most fitting procedure for Inauguration Day, methinks. Seriously though, good luck! If you’ve never had one before, the prep is far worse than the thing itself IMHO.
@Starfish: Where do you live?
A Ghost To Most
My wife and I are talking about going down to Denver that day for this.
Orange County, CA event.
@Miss Bianca: Need any advice as to how to survive one, I’ve had dozens.
@ArchTeryx: Not really supposed to be a hobby, you know. Not judging…
I’m hopeful that arranging a meetup in Washington, DC on the day of the event will be a logistical impossibility. And based on the number of my Facebook friends who appear to be coming to town, and the number of locals hosting other visitors, I’d guess that will be the case.
@O. Felix Culpa:
Yes. It is. That is a true fact. The most disgusting thing you’ll ever drink.
Sister Rail Gun of Warm Humanitarianism
We’re having one in Raleigh and one in Charlotte.
There is one in Baton Rouge:
@Currants: @Currants: Thank you so much for posting that. I will be at the one in Boston. Hope to see some other Baloon Juicer’s there.
Is anyone going to the one in Greenfield, MA? Crowds make me claustrophobic, so marches are definitely not my thing. Perhaps a meet-up later?
The Moar You Know
@Chris: The new stuff is fine. You drink a pint of the stuff, drink three pints of water (slam ’em is my advice) and shit nonstop for an hour or two. Repeat in the morning. I have had visits to the dentist that were far worse than my colonoscopy.
The old stuff was truly awful, gotta admit that.
I have to be down in Wichita and there will be one there, as well as one in Topeka, Kansas. So three in Kansas and one just over the border in Kansas City, Missouri.
@O. Felix Culpa: Not to derail the thread into a discussion of my bowels, but yes…the irony of “the procedure” being scheduled around Inauguration Day has not been lost on me. It was more or less deliberate, not as a commentary on the Inauguration per se but to make sure that I got it while it was still covered as an essential procedure by the ACA.
@ArchTeryx: Dozens? Dear God. You have all my sympathy. Unless you’re doing them for fun, as Martin suggests, in which case, uh.. //
Going to San Jose; I wish I could go to the SF event, but I have to stick around San Jose that day.
@The Moar You Know:
Either “the new stuff” wasn’t invented until after September 2015, or those bastards at the Jacksonville hospital were holding out on me.
@beth: I’ll be there! Maybe we should all where kitty hats?
I’m in San Antonio and plan to drive over to the march in Austin if anyone in the area wants to ride along. Also, a meetup with other Juicers at the Austin march would be great.
This is how my local news tv station website is spinning it. I expect the comment section to be flooded in a few hours by conservatives saying “I don’t see the problem. Russia helped educate the electorate so they could choose wisely.”
I often wonder why I read the comments on my local news websites.
There one here in Oaxaca, Mexico!!!
I’m going to this one in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois:
@KBS: Nice pic of Betty Friedan , Bella and Billy Jean and two of my friends are going to that one so far!
@Sister Rail Gun of Warm Humanitarianism: You could probably substitute Tarheels, Wolfpack, Blue Devils, or Demon Deacons college team sweatshirts. What real NC local isn’t crazy for one of those schools’ hoops teams?
As I understand it, there was bad old stuff, then there was good new stuff, then the good new stuff got taken away because some people abused it for weight-loss purposes and got kidney problems, so we’re back to the bad old stuff. But that was a couple of years ago, so I’m not sure.
@The Moar You Know: The split dose is much better but I don’t know that the stuff itself tastes and different. Drinking it through a straw with Crystal Lite helps a great deal and so does a low fibre diet for several days ahead.
@SatanicPanic: I don’t do Book of Faces, but would like to do meet up. Tell me when and where?
You want a new computer and are looking for an excuse to buy one? I can’t imagine how the monitor got smashed into a million pieces, honest.
This is why we march..
@joax: I like the international flavor of this protest.
Deborah Elaine Gerish
@Starfish: Any buses coming from further north? I’m in Greeley and have already knit one Pu$$y Hat. They’re super fast and I’ve got pink yarn to use up.
Here’s the march in Vegas. I’m not positive I can go – we’re actually moving to Seattle either that weekend or the next one. If I’m still in town, I’ll be there!
@hovercraft: You should see some of the fucking comments left on my various local TV news websites. You’d weep.
One genius said he had no problem with Russia hacking the election; they were merely providing voters with information (emaiz!) that voters could use to make an intelligent decision (drumpf!)
There are two in Maine. One is in Augusta and the other in Brunswick. Not sure I can take time from work to go but I’m going to try to get to one of them.
@Glidwrith: We’ll be at Horton Plaza park at 9:30, wearing purple, come say hi! ask for Nick, that is me
@O. Felix Culpa: Don’t want to hijack a thread, but colonoscopy prep makes for a crazy night…..
I’ll be back in Chicago on the 21st . May have to take a walk downtown.
BCHS Class of 1980
There is one scheduled for St. Pete on 21 Jan 2017. The main URL is here. My wife is going; just curious as to whether there are any Juicers on the north side of Tampa.
@KarenH: I’m currently planning on going to the one in Austin. Just waiting to see if I can get a ride from a neighbor or if I need to plan to get into town myself.
Anybody else planning on going to the Austin one?
First time poster… [original] Is there a link for the Denver march? I’m searching the Interwebz but I’ll be back!
[eta] I’m back! Clicking on the box in the post went to http://www.marchoncolorado.org
@ruemara: check out the Women’s March website. There’s a map with marches all over the world.
Anyone going to the one in downtown Los Angeles want to meetup?
I will be arriving towards the latter part of the event (I work until noon and then have to catch metro from Pasadena.)
Columbus Ohio Sister March on Jan. 15
@KarenH: What section of San Antonio are you in? I might be interested in riding along if It’s just for the day.
I’ll be at the Boston Women’s March (though I may have to join it already in progress), wearing a Wonkette Hell, No! hat. And a parka, because Back Bay in January.
I’d like to org one in Dublin, Ireland. Bet I could get some dubs to march against that sexist pig.
Who can I speak to about logistics?
@SatanicPanic: Thanks! I assume that is in the AM on Sat 1/21?
I only read comments at places like this, life’s too short to allow racist, misogynistic trolls to raise my blood pressure.
@Josie: I’m near downtown, east of 281/37, not too far from the Alamodome. I’ll just be going for the day.
@Glidwrith: oh yeah, sorry, correct, 9:30 am Saturday January 21st at that little park in front of Horton Plaza.
Frank Rich is brutal. I thought he was a theater critic?
I admit I mostly lurking here, but seeing all these marches scheduled makes my heart swell. And to see there’s a march in Mexico makes it even better. I hope there are marches worldwide. It’s a beautiful thing. I’ll be doing my part in Pittsburgh as well.
Let’s keep it up!!
@KarenH:I’m in the northeast corner and don’t know my way around San Antonio very well yet, but we can meet somewhere or I can find you. I’ll need to make sure i have arrangements for animal care and such. I’m out of town right now, but I’ll check into it when I get back next week. Email me if you like through one of the front pagers with your plans and I’ll see what I can work out.
@RoonieRoo: I hope to, yes.
@Josie: If you are northeast, I can probably pick you up without it being too far out of the way. We can figure something out, I’m sure.
@cckids: Welcome to the neighborhood!
Swore off Moanin’ Joe, too, I see.
@debbie: If the pu$$yhats look like this, count me in.
@SatanicPanic: Thanks, I will bring a green balloon!
I probably can’t meet you if you’re coming late, but I need to talk to a couple of friends anyhow before I finalize plans. Here’s the link to the L.A. march: women’s march l.a.
@KarenH: That’s very generous of you. I’ll work on arrangements next week. Never done this before, so I’m kind of excited.
KS in MA
Yes to American flags! And is anybody organizing some marching bands?
@The Moar You Know: The split dose stuff I got was vile. Vaguely fruit-flavored poisonously bitter chemicals. I accidentally drank a shot of liquid floor polish once and it tasted better than Suprep.
@germy: Are you sure that wasn’t my Congressman Chris Collins-R NY That’s pretty much what he said. The hackings revealed the “truth” about how deceitful Democrats are.
Joy in FL
@BCHS Class of 1980: Thanks to your post, I just signed up for the St. Pete March. A few days ago, I searched for something close enough but did not find the “sister marches.”
Someone in a different thread said something about BJ folks carrying green balloons so we could recognize each other. Maybe that’s a thing we could do.
There’s one in Toronto, Ontario, St. Catherines, Ontario, and Buffalo, NY. St. Catherines is closest to me, but my sister-in-law and I are considering crossing the border to go to the one in Buffalo. Resist!
@Josie: I sent TaMara a request for your email and she will wait to hear from you, then she will exchange both our emails. It will be easier to work out the details that way.
His theater critic days ended long ago. He moved to the NYT Op-Ed page for a few years before leaving the paper. I liked his stuff on both pages. Far better than New York Magazine’s John Simon!
Colonoscopies (I’ve had one) are a breeze because they zonk you out, and you kind of drift dreamily through the whole thing. Sigmoidoscopies (I’ve had two) are BAD: It’s a less invasive procedure, so they don’t drug you at all. Count on six or seven minutes of extreme discomfort. The fact that it’s a type of pain I’d never felt before was only mildly distracting. But when it’s over, it’s over. No after-effects at all.
As for drinking The Stuff, I made a huge mistake and watched “Back to the Future III” while going through the process. As a result everything about that movie now disgusts me. (Fortunately the first two flicks remain unaffected.)
@ms_canadada: Thank you. I just saw on our local news that Buffalo Resistance organized a protest outside the fundraising event held for Trump today in downtown Buffalo, which was attended by Kellyanne Conway. That was nice to see.
I see on the Buffalo Resistance Twitter feed that they do have marches planned for January 21st. I can’t attend because I work Saturdays but I’m glad to see there is something going on in my area. I’m hoping to make it to the Erie County Democratic Committee meeting on 1/23.
I would like to go to the San Jose one also. Since San Jose starts at 10, and the SF one is at 4 pm, I might be able to make both. I think I will need a lot of chances to scream that weekend.
I’ll find a green balloon to wear, if that will make it easier to meet up.
@Deborah Elaine Gerish: I’ll be taking the train from the west side of Denver.
@KarenH: Sounds good. I sent her a message.
I will be at Boston, wearing my Pussy Hat. My knitting group is knitting hats to wear. I have some violently hot pink yarn with reflective thread running through it – I will be like deer’s eyes in car headlights, only pink.
I have more pink yarn, so if anyone wanted one to wear to Boston, we could meet up beforehand.
San Diego Women’s March Saturday, Jan 21 10-12, San Diego Civic Center Plaza
1200 Third Ave, San Diego, California 92101
Haven’t been to a big demonstration since Vietnam war but I’ll be in Denver. Great public transportation to downtown so that’s easy. And my sister is knitting me a pussy hat so I can go in style
Albuquerque, New Mexico, Civic Plaza. January 21, 2017. 11am-1p,
I found sister events in Melbourne and Sydney here in Aus. Unfortunately too far for me. I will be with you all in spirit. Good luck!
looking for a Florida one for a couple of politically-active locals that I know here.
I am interested. Anyone going from Longmont? Or does anyone have a most efficient public transportation way to get from Longmont to the walk in Denver?
I’ll be at the San Jose march, and I will have a green balloon!
Memphis March: https://www.facebook.com/memphiswomensmarch/?fref=ts
Cleveland, Ohio starts on Public Square at 10 am
