Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

The revolution will be supervised.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I was promised a recession.

The words do not have to be perfect.

“woke” is the new caravan.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

A lot of Dems talk about what the media tells them to talk about. Not helpful.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Could one of you artistic types create a picture of a snake with Donald Trump hair (maybe also a Donald Trump face?) with “Don’t Pee On Me” written on it?

In the style of this Wonkette classic

Interesting to speculate if the racist Tea Party movement will atrophy now that they’ve elected their Birther-in-Chief. Guessing “no” is the answer until segregated water fountains come back into vogue.

I’ve learned the library where @ RepMikeCoffman held his event would’ve let him stay much longer. Coffman said library needed him to leave.

Coffman is the CO congressman who snuck out of his own townhall because people showed up to ask him for details about the Republicans’ plan for health care. A liar and a coward.

This does not seem to be going the way Sweet Paulie Blue Eyes thought it would.

I really can’t believe how fast he wheels seem to be coming off this administration. Shit. He hasn’t even taken the fucking oath yet, and his numbers are in the toilet, intelligence agencies are freaking out and (I think) trying to undercut him, and there’s talk about how long the Republicans can hold off before they have to begin investigating him. This is fucking great. A month ago, two months ago, I was worried this might be the end of the country. Today, if I had to guess, I’d bet he doesn’t last a year in office.

I saw “Don’t pee on me” on FB but it was not well done so I didn’t copy the drawing. Hopefully some artistic type here can do it well

Those numbers are delicious. What’s the normal capacity of one of those buses, around 40? 50?

  14. 14.

    FlyingToaster

    January 15, 2017 at 11:57 pm

@SiubhanDuinne: Assume 50. The large charters run from 49-57. So 1200×50=60,000. That’s just the charter bus crowd. One MA congressman has hired two train cars (80 per). All the folks coming in, sleeping at their friends, and taking the Metro in.

And then all the sister marches…. And Orange Shitgibbon will just tweet, calling us names. Big “L” Lame.

@rikyrah: I saw a couple of previews and didn’t find the actress playing Victoria very compelling. She seems too modern – like she’s an actress dressing up as Victoria, rather than an professional acting in a role.

@Christy imgur.com is usually pretty good about letting you link directly to the image. If all else fails, tweet the pic and then copy the twimg link from there. Either way, nailed it!
