“Honey, I’m going on Fox to announce that my biker gang of meatheads will be private security for Trump and bash any protestors that get ‘unruly.’ What should I wear?”
“I dunno, babe. Probably anything but brown. Literally anything but a brown shirt.”
Bonus hilarity- that is Chris Cox, head of Bikers for Trump, who is a “chainsaw artist.”
Betty Cracker
Stick in the spokes, then go General Organa on his ass.
Corner Stone
It is kind of you to think of Botsplainer when choosing the category tag for this post.
Jeffro
Smart move having brown shirted bikers providing security at a March that will be mostly women and some kids … what could go wrong ??
I am sure that interim National Guard general can handle it – good thing they let the old guy go
Baud
My money is on the women and children.
SiubhanDuinne
I did not know we had a category called “Fucksaw.”
But I like it, I like it.
Schlemazel
Hey, bikers provided security at Altamont and that worked OK, didn’t it?
Baud
Shouldn’t they change the title of that show to Fox & Enemies?
opiejeanne
Don’t these guys need a permit to be allowed to do this? I mean, the marchers have permits, were required to get permits, and these bozos think they can just show up and bully people?
How many are in this group, I wonder.
Yoda Dog Democrat
Cowards. The more these types try to impress me with their machismo, the more I’m convinced they’re all just cowards, more or less. This is why, of course, they would gravitate to the ultimate coward/bully… This is why they would rather be ruled by Putin than represented by a democrat.
Baud
Shouldn’t these people have jobs?
FlyingToaster
WTF‽‽‽
Look, I’m Jewish, my dad was an American airman for WWII and Korea, and I grew up katy-cornered from folks with numbers tattoed into their arms. This shit is NOT funny.
We have bikers who provide security for funerals (when those asswipes from Kansas show up), but they wear black. Like people in mourning.
That being said, I’ll still be at Boston’s March next week, after I see WarriorGirl through her 9:30 class.
zzyzx
@Jeffro: This isn’t for the march. That’s the next day. It’s still awful optics mind you.
Baud
Are there good bikers who will stand with us?
Major Major Major Major
@opiejeanne: like every other such thing this will amount to nothing. Remember the open carry D.C. March that didn’t happen?
Baud
@zzyzx: Ah, that makes more sense.
Stan
The predecessors to the Sturmabteilung (“brownshirts”) were the Freikorps of 1918-20 or so…..I feel very much like we are in that moment here. The Freikorps used to tell folks they had to commit violence in the streets in order to, you know, stop violence in the streets.
I will be on that march Jan 21 with my wife & a couple of my (adult) children. Screw the bikers.
Jim, Foolish Literalist
??
so not the women’s march, but some other protest?
FlyingToaster
@Baud: They “have” jerbs. They work at Al’s Gas and Auto Repair, three days a week. And that opioid problem ain’t no big deel.
zzyzx
@Jim, Foolish Literalist: The march is the day after the inauguration. This is a just in case people protest the actual thing idea.
Suzanne
@FlyingToaster: I’ll be at the Phoenix march next week with the whole family. My husband will be wearing a pink hat.
Jim, Foolish Literalist
@zzyzx: ah, thanks
so they just wanna get their picture took with president orange hair in the background
Pogonip
@opiejeanne: I don’t think bikers are too concetned about permits.
Teemu
Trump’s own Night Wolves must prove themselves, so of course they’ll do this.
FlyingToaster
@Suzanne: WarriorGirl has a 9:15 class, and an 11:15 class that I’d rather she didn’t miss. So HerrDoktor will truck her and her violin over while I drive to where I can park-all-day by a T stop. I’ll miss the beginning of the speakers, but that’s the trade-off.
He’s attempted to take her to the 9:30 class before: unfortunately, her antics make him sufficiently crazy that he packs her back home and grounds her in her bedroom. Parenting a wanna-be class clown is never easy.
raven
@Baud: I have a good buddy, Marine, wounded at Khe Sahn and a biker. We were at the VVAW demo in April of 71. He ended up moving to DC and he would ride his bike up to the demonstrations at Walter Reed. There would be wingnut bikers on one side of the street and anti-war folks on the other. He’d pull up on his sled in full colors, meander around and then go across the street with the anti-war folks!!!
raven
@Baud: This is him in a 25th anniversary of the Wall doc.
RepubAnon
“Bikers for Trump” plays well to Trump’s base – so I expect it’s marketing. One wonders whether they’ll have some amateur pro wrestlers dressed up as hippies to pretend to attack the bikers near the Fox News cameras before gigging* themselves and falling to the ground, vanquished by the Trumpistas. People so eager to see “false flag” operations everywhere must be thinking about using the tactic themselves.
* I had a co-worker that was training to be a pro wrestler – some of them had concealed sharp objects that they’d use to put small cuts on their foreheads that bleed spectacularly – he called it “gigging.”
raven
I hate this “both sides” shit but I have been in street actions where there were people who wanted nothing more that to provoke the cops to fuck people up. I hope it doesn’t happen.
FortGeek
@Betty Cracker: I like the way you think, ma’am. *puts on a fedora briefly to tip it…then takes it off so as not to look trendy*
Baud
@raven: We need him to serve his country one more time.
raven
@Baud: He moved to Durgano, he’s 100% disabled but still was able to bike around the Nam last year.

Idiot has a South Carolina patch on his jacket, too, so he probably plays dress up with the KKK in his spare time.

They call themselves a “wall of meat.” At least they know how Trump looks at them.

OMG, they are just straight up copying Putin’s biker posse! They are called The Night Wolves. And they pledge their lives to the Dear Leader.

He looks ready to appear in A True Nightmare From Scouts In Action.

@San:
IIRC, the Iranian government sent the Basij on motorcycles to crack skulls during the Green Revolution protests in 2009. And the Maduro government in Venezuela uses loyalists on motorcycles to get violent with protesters there. Good company Trump will keep.
Aleta
@RepubAnon:
I think you’re right.

Judging from how my late BIL acted about his biker groups, there will unfortunately be plenty of Harley types willing to join in without a second thought if they think the “call to action” is real.

Three words: Altamont Free Concert.
Also I take offense at any insinuations about chainsaw art, I’ve known some very talented chainsaw sculptors. Also if we mock chainsaw art, where does that leave butter art?
Mnemosyne
So, just to be clear, this guy says he’s going to show up to the shitty inauguration that people are steering clear of attending rather than the actual, well-attended protest the next day?
Real profile in courage, this guy. He’s going to prevent us mean liberals from going to a party we’ve already said we don’t want to go to.
sigaba
@Mnemosyne: What do you expect, he watches Fox News. How should he know when things are happening?
El Caganer
I do find it odd that the Trumpers oust the guy heading security, then – by the oddest of coincidences – these bozos decide to show up for the Urination Coronation. Purely coincidental. What could possibly go wrong?
Jeanne
Chris Cox, in addition to being a “chainsaw artist”, is also the lawn mower guy. http://www.theblaze.com/news/2013/10/10/meet-the-one-man-militia-cutting-govt-lawns-while-d-c-remains-in-shutdown-its-just-the-right-thing-to-do/
Dude is desperate to be taken seriously as a real American.
EZSmirkzz
Yawn.
I’m thinking the cons ervatives are getting some lulz out of this. They like intimidation tactics.

@Baud: wearing brownshirts is a job.
Stacy
I mean, this guy, really?. His father worked in the Labor and Agriculture Departments and grew up in NoVA. He’s trying to get a bill passed to keep parks and monuments open when the government shuts down. “Cox is neither a veteran nor a blue-collar worker, and landed on the idea of harnessing that group after visiting biker bars and noticing that they overwhelmingly supported Trump.”

I’m not a biker, per se, but I ride a lot of miles with guys who wear a patch. Including a few retired officers of biker clubs that wouldn’t let this idiot prospect for them at any time, ever. Bikers for Trump can crow about protecting Trump at the inauguration all they want…but nobody wearing a patch would be caught dead harming women and children during the march the day after. The hard core bikers may be brutal to other male patch holders, but women and children are pretty much off limits. And this douche knows it.
EZSmirkzz
@Stacy: Fixed the link for ya.
EZSmirkzz
@Coin operated: From the WaPo story the man appears to have a political agenda of keeping the National Parks and monuments open during government shutdowns. If I’m not mistaken the House gutting of the regulatory agencies pretty much makes just the opposite likely to occur.
Imagine that.
Stacy
@EZSmirkzz: Thanks for the fix.
Enhanced Voting Techniques
Speaking as someone who grew up in a Hells Angels town, that dude an’t no biker. Looks like some middle manager to me.
LongHairedWeirdo
Nitpicky, but true: Chainsaw art is a thing.
Corner Stone
@Enhanced Voting Techniques:
That dude’s dream job is to manage the late shift at a Hooter’s restaurant. He wants to tell young women they can either lose a few pounds, sleep with him, or get fired.
Corner Stone
@LongHairedWeirdo:
Absolutely true. I am sure it exists in force in other areas but going to Alaska in 2015 it was clear that they take that art form very seriously. And have a market for it. A lot of it is original and very beautiful.

@sigaba: three letters: LSD.
Also, girl band singer Cherie Curry of the Runaways lives in West Hills, CA. She,too, is a chain saw artist and rocks it! She goes by chainsawchick.
My parents lived around the corner from her.
Cherie can often be seen in her front yard getting her art on.
My favorite was an eagle with a giant wing span.
