As the American Resistance builds, establishment media (who gave us Donald Trump in the first place) will attack us for being rude, vitriolic, smelly hippies. Rude would be if we sent every last one of them to the guillotines they richly deserve. I’d say a little profanity here and there is pretty fucking polite under the circumstances.
.@ChuckLane1 @realDonaldTrump "Whatever happened to going high when they go low?" Fuck that.

The real point isn’t that Madonna said “fuck,” as in, “Hey, let’s fuck!” or “Who gives a fuck?”
She said, to all those “who said we can’t make a difference: FUCK YOU.”
Much more aggressive (and righteous IMHO) than simply crossing a profanity line.
And it’s fucking Madonna, people. Have you heard of her?
Ruckus
What about a lot of profanity? Maybe on the order of every other fucking word.
Yeah, if they are being hurt by the profanity, remind them that real people, some of them even likely them are being physically and mentally hurt by the actions/intentions of the current government, and that their feelings really don’t fucking match up.

She got off one good FUCK YOU before MSNBC put her on a time delay.

I think the media and the GOP are a little surprised at how – hate to use the word ‘militant’, but hey – militant the resistance to Trump is.
The media is still shaking off its “both sides” and “get along to go along” mentalities, bit by bit.
The GOP is starting to learn what it’s like when your opponent is angry and committed to obstructing at every turn. (And even then, it’s not apples-to-apples to compare our resistance with the Tea Party crap for a number of reasons).
Speaking of the TP: sure would like to see some reporting on how Trump = TP takeover of the GOP. Palin in a suit. Cleek’s Law governance. Know-nothing mindlessness. I won’t hold my breath, but still…

I’m grateful Trump has finally made it acceptable to say pussy in polite company.
misterpuff
@Corner Stone: Two actually.
The first made me laugh (and point at MSNBC for being celebrity fuckers), the second made me cheer!
A reporter on CNN was interviewing a marchers when Wolf cut in saying Scarlett Johansen was speaking. Starfuckers all.
and it allows them to paper over the need for these marches because FOX will bitch about Hollywood boutique protest and not look at the grassroots issues.

When we have a President who talks about the media “lying” about the crowd size at his inaguration to the CIA staff, we are beyond needing to be polite.

Well–we went high for eight years while they went low–and look where that got us? Payback’s a bitch.

Got back from the boston rally! Talk about boston strong! 100,000. They originally expected 20,000 but the numbers kept climbing 20,000 every 12 hours towards the end. The march was buggered– we stood without moving, packed like sardines, but it was fabulous !

NPS stopped giving crowd estimates years ago to keep out of he said/she said fights with other march organizers. What the person did with the twitter account was going around that rule. They may not lose their job, but that bumps up against that line.
Officially, what I say on my facebook account is limited by my agency. My PERSONAL account, with my real name. Hatch Act and all that. I still need to re-read the act (haven’t bothered since Reagan) but this man pisses me off.
Also heard of an incident local to DC where one of those big traffic signs said “Congestion ahead due to activities downtown. Head to Canada” (Not exact wording – I didn’t see it – I’ll send it to someone here to post if I can get a copy of the image). I hope the person who wrote it keeps their job too.

@Major Major Major Major: Yeah, he went to give an informal talk to the C.I.A., and spent a big chunk of it whining about how the press said the crowd at his swearing-in was smaller than it was. This guy–and I’m using this word the way it was meant to be used–literally cannot think about anything but what people are saying about him. That’s all he cares about, that people say wonderful things about him. When they say wonderful things, he goes on and on about how right they are, and how wise they are to see how wonderful he is. When they mock him or say something bad about him, he whines and pouts and calls them big fat poopie-headed meanies. He can’t think about, and doesn’t care about, anything other than that everybody should be praising him all the time.

The thing that has to sink in is that This is Not Normal, so all that conventional politeness is out the window. We now have an unstable narcissist at the helm of the world’s deadliest arsenal, and a bunch of politicians and media types will reflexively treat it like it’s a normal course of events unless people keep hitting them in the teeth with a 2 by 4. All they care about is power and status, and they’ll go along until the country is reduced to a corrupt kleptocracy. Just watch his “speech” at the CIA. It’s just rambling by a lunatic obsessed with his crowd size, his “enemies” in the press, and his “historic” victory as a popular vote loser who eeked out an electoral college win by around 100k votes in a few counties in the Midwest.

On a brighter note, and I guess I can link this, since it has to do with our failed media experiment, our church was on the front page of the Washington Post Metro section today. There are three churches in the story; ours is Riverside, the Baptist one. There was even an oblique reference to me in the last paragraph, where it says that some of the money the church made went to help my non-profit through which I help schools in Honduras.

Her campaign had more money than his campaign, BUT, he got free media, all told he was given billions in free advertising. Every Single Story about Hillary led and ended with she is unlikeable, untrustworthy, e-mails. Any marketer will tell you the key to marketing is repetition and reinforcement of the brand, the media “branded” Hillary as dishonest, unlikeable, lying botch, who endangered national security because E-MAILS. She did not make bad decisions about how to spend her money, she simply could not overcome the deluge that came from the media and shitgibbon supporting superpacs. Remember that in spite of all that she was winning, it took Comey to finally overcome the odiousness of our new president, and even then she still got more votes. No campaign is perfect, but she fought off the media, Russia, and the GOP, she just couldn’t fight off the additional bullshit that came ostensibly from the government of the United States Chief Domestic Law Enforcement Officer.

@Steeplejack (tablet): Not in my opinion. He was having the vapors over Madonna’s language and saying that the left always stabs itself in the foot by being foul hippies in public and turning people off. Laurence O’Donnell pushed back pretty hard against that idiocy, though.

The Trump News Service reports that the turnout for all of today’s Women’s Marches was generously estimated to be approximately 73 people, whereas the turnout for Trump’s inauguration was 3.7 billion and many more who wanted to attend couldn’t because they were unable to acquire tickets to the greatest and most popular event in the history of the world. Asked about the Women’s Marches, the president said, “Pathetic. Nowhere near as big as one of my typical campaign events. Just sad. Sad!”
TNS also reported that Jesus, who was unable to attend due to a prior engagement, sent word directly to Mr. Trump that he looks forward to all the miraculous good that this president will accomplish in the next four years. “Don,” said Jesus, “we may even be able to cancel the apocalypse when you get finished.” With his characteristic modesty, the president acknowledged that Jesus is one of his biggest fans and plans to visit Trump regularly at his Trump Tower HQ. “The classiest digs in the universe” according to the Messiah.

@TriassicSands: The BBC just played an extended excerpt (and maybe actually the whole thing). Spicer is unhinged and delusional.
He actually said that Trump’s audience was bigger than even Obama’s because they’re counting in-person and people who watched on TV around the world.
I hope the White House correspondents are at least thinking about boycotting Donnie for a day or so to shut Spicer and the rest of them up. They need the press much more than the press needs Donnie (or especially Spicer). Let Donnie know what it’s like when he’s not on the front page or on the news summary for a change….
Cheers,
Scott.

It’s hard to know how to respond to the insanity that oozes from every pore of the Trump operation. Trump can’t stand the idea that anyone would ever top him in anything.
I’m surprised he didn’t claim there were millions more people who wanted to attend, but they couldn’t because they’re “illegal aliens.”

Actually, the aggregate Pa + Mi + Wi difference was 77,744:
Pa: 44,292
Mi: 10,704
Wi: 22,748
If you want to add Nader-esque insult to the above figures, here’s how many votes Stein & Johnson got in those states – a big fuck you to the Stein purity ponies for the shit starbursts coming out your ass:
Pa: Stein: 49,941 Johnson: 146,715
Mi: Stein: 51,463 Johnson: 172,136
Wi: Stein: 31,072 Johnson: 106,674
From which it’s obvious that Stein’s diversion of votes from Clinton was easily enough by themselves to swing EACH OF THE THREE states to trump, even aside from Johnson.

I think we should start a new party called the ‘Guillotine Party’ that represents the common man(woman). It should fight for the right to have affordable housing, living wage, universal health care and education for all. It should advocate for an independent media (not controlled by business interests) and true separation of church and church.
