That’s weird in and of itself (traditionally, one recited the Pater Noster when in immanent peril, as the best emergency method of preparing one’s soul against Hell or Purgatory) but some eagle-eyed observer noticed the signs so prominent behind Melania…

Well guess what you find when you actually go to https://t.co/PTLrOfkCsZ? Try it for yourself! Go on … seriously! pic.twitter.com/kup48c369z

Ok just one more … yep. That's right! "Blacks for Trump" are members of the Yahweh Ben Yahweh cult. Hurray! pic.twitter.com/vbrhDypSTN

— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) February 19, 2017

So here's my question: what PRESIDENTIAL LEVEL ADVANCE TEAM let these people set up ON THE RISR, IN THE CAMERA SHOT with the First Lady? pic.twitter.com/kkk5ToLf1u

— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) February 19, 2017

Because they didn't want an all-white crowd behind him & they were the only black people there? https://t.co/RumI5ZmnvB

— Dana Houle (@DanaHoule) February 19, 2017

From NYMag, back in October, more about the ‘Blacks for Trump’ sign-wavers:

… A former member of the murderous Yahweh ben Yahweh cult, Michael has found himself with front-row seats to several recent Trump events in South Florida, always waving his “Blacks for Trump” sign and wearing a shirt that says “Trump & Republicans Are Not Racist.” At Tuesday’s rally in Sanford, Trump took notice. “I love the signs behind me. Blacks for Trump. I like those signs. Blacks for Trump. You watch. You watch. Those signs are great,” he said…

This success with the GOP is a credit to Michael’s fervent anti-Obama stance, which is less about policy than Michael’s belief that the president, whom he calls “The Beast,” is the Antichrist whose rise was foretold in the Bible. Not that he doesn’t disapprove of Obama’s policies, too. Michael told the Miami New Times that he believes the president’s backing of child support could bring about the extinction of the free black man.

Before he was winning attaboys from prominent members of the GOP, Michael ran with a vicious black-supremacist cult. In the early ‘90s, Michael and 15 other members of the Yahweh ben Yahweh cult were charged with conspiring in two murders, and even though his own brother testified that Michael stabbed a man in the eye with a sharp stick, he was let off by a Florida jury. In the decades since, he’s become a novel figure in South Florida, racking up criminal charges but no convictions and running a radio show that features his rants on “Demon-crats.”…

See, the President-Asterisk is fine with cult members of all colors, as long as they hate the same people his core advisors want him to be seen hating!

I’m sure the Secret Service raised questions about this, just as I’m sure they were overridden by the Trumplodytes who couldn’t resist the ‘optics’.

And the best part? All the righties posting glowing tweets with hashtag #BlacksForTrump in them not knowing they're down w/ the YBY cult.

— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) February 19, 2017

Sorry to harp on this, but this isn't some tin horn campaign at this point – it's the presidential advance team. Who's running this show?

I seem to recall that the “Blacks For Trump” conspiracy fantasists and cultists have repeatedly peopled the backdrops of Trump’s speeches in Florida, but that there’s an interesting pattern here: when they could be seen behind Trump during the Primary campaign, they were waving pre-printed signs with their website address clearly visible, so people could go and drink in the Crazy. When they appeared behind Trump in the General campaign they still had pre-printed signs, seemingly the same ones, but the website address was no longer visible – taped over or cut off, perhaps. This seemed to indicate either that Trump’s ground team had received a competence and/or reality infusion from the RNC that was trying to prevent them from embarrassing themselves (too much), or that the cultists themselves had decided on increased circumspection (unlikely as that seems). Either way, it’s back to free-range nuttiness let loose by incompetence.

Heh. An editor for Infowars put up $2000 to cover travel expenses for any journalist that dared stay in Malmo, Sweden. The crime rate there is slightly worse than in the city I live in, which is regularly ranked among the safest cities in America.

The planned first opening line from Psalms 23:4, was just a little too indicative of the dire they’re in. (or is it “we”?)

Also indicative: Me, quoting a Bible verse! Very out of character.

Trumpers are comfortable with cultists. Start with Fox news, then advance to Infowars, Breitbart, the Wall Street Journal (I kid, a bit). And then to the summit with alt-right and YBY. Not a big surprise.

Trump may have a point. On TV, I’ve seen a lot of Swedish crime, mostly serial killers. But they seem to be holding it together with the help of their Danish colleagues across the Oresund bridge. Also that hacker girl who helped that journalist exposed government corruption a few years ago. It’s not all ABBA and meatballs over there. I’m just saying.

Fortunately, Kenneth Branagh is there to solve them. Although he speaks Swedish with an unusual accent. Perhaps he can get dialect/dialogue lessons from John Qualen?

And then posted hilarious photos to scare away the hundreds of applicants (including one of “punk youths” hanging around some graffiti). And then he limited the offer to $2000 and picked one journalist himself.

I am pretty confident that the average trump lover in middle America(and I know a mob of them) has no clue about Yahweh Ben Yahweh and wouldn’t ever look it up. They don’t fact check anything. They certainly are not voluntarily going to a site that might have anything by or about people of color unless given a link by a trusted fellow bigot or the orange shitgibbon himself.

Malmö? Does that cash deal work retroactively?! I stayed there and entire weekend, pretty sure I was in the area called the wild west no less, staying in the appartment of drum-roll duh-dunt the daughter of a refugee! (OK, a Czech refugee vintage ’68, but still). Still use the spatula I picked up on that weekend. Implement of mass flipping.

@Zinsky: Yes it is true that they appreciate having tokens to show off, and like acting proud of accepting diversity as a value to be upheld and cherished.

It wasn’t too long ago though that tokens wouldn’t have been welcomed in such crowds, and that giving lip service to diversity was beyond imagining.

That is interesting to me as a social phenomenon even as I recognize that it doesn’t mean anything, they are bigots through and through.

Not to put too fine a point on it but Melania didn’t ‘recite’ the Lord’s Prayer. She read it. And I’m just wondering what kind of shit storm would have ensued if Michelle Obama would have had to have the Lord’s Prayer written out for her.

I love me some Joy Reid – best talking head on MSNBC.

but sometimes she can be dense. but that doesn’t make her any less dense than her cohorts across the media.

She takes the tried and true tack of saying “ha ha ha you stupid Trump people you. I know who those black people are. They’re not regular black people! You morons!”

She and the rest of the media, save Kevin Drum maybe, never talk about what kind of message he’s sending to his people , in this case using any black people wanting to wave a sign, to telegraph to the followers so that they can say to themselves “hey! even black people like Trump. I ain’t no racist!”

That’s why those folks were there front and center. And if you’re in the media and you don’t tell us that, you fail. Leave your job now. There’s important shit going on and you’re hurting by not helping.
