Comey just hinted, by omission, that IC+FBI have classified information about Roger Stone's collusion with Wikileaks & Moscow.

Whoopsie…

— John Schindler (@20committee) March 20, 2017

Politico, “Roger Stone takes center stage as Congress lines up Russia probe witnesses”

… On Monday, Schiff placed Stone front-and-center as he questioned FBI Director James Comey and National Security Agency Director Adm. Michael Rogers.

Schiff made the most of his opportunity Monday during the committee’s first public hearing of its probe into whether there was any collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow officials on the alleged digital meddling campaign that bruised Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The lawmaker pressed Comey on whether he knew who Stone is and if he was aware of Stone’s interactions with suspected hackers.

Comey said he was “generally” aware of who Stone is but wouldn’t comment on his reported activities.

“I’m worried we’re going to a place I don’t want to go, which is commenting on any particular person,” Comey added. “So I don’t think I should comment. I’m aware of public accounts.”…

Stone, who is in the midst of promoting a book on last year’s election, has a ready explanation for each action that has drawn the attention of lawmakers. He will gladly share them if asked.

“I don’t have to be subpoenaed,” Stone told POLITICO in an interview last week. “I’d come voluntarily, but if they want to issue a subpoena to get a headline, that’s fine, too. I’m anxious to speak, the sooner the better. I would like to put an end to this myth about collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.”…

The document sent to Stone requests he retain pertinent documents from the campaign. However, [Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr] Burr said there is no timeline yet for bringing in Stone.

“Sometimes the people that want to talk the most are not the ones who are the most valuable,” he said.

CNN has a helpful timeline of every incident where “Trump adviser Roger Stone repeatedly claimed to know of forthcoming WikiLeaks dumps”.

To us older folk, Roger Stone under oath is like finding King Tut's tomb.

— Charles P. Pierce (@CharlesPPierce) March 20, 2017

I’m quite sure ol’ Roger is busy at what he does best — massaging his every source, promising to rat out all his associates, attempting to make sure that never happens. Still, like Mr. Pierce, I can dream!

Jennifer Palmieri, who served as communications director on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, said Trump’s wiretapping situation reminded her of his “death spiral” after lashing out at a federal judge over his Latino heritage.

“He just cannot let it go,” Palmieri said. “Except this time he is getting slapped down by the sitting FBI director. That’s a brutal blow to his credibility and a huge opportunity cost. He should be focused on salvaging his health-care bill, not continuing to draw all of America’s eyes to the Russia investigation.”

Why is a key Hillary person asking the twitler to move on instead of putting pressure on him by asking him to explain the russian connections? Sheesh woman, think of all the caterwauling if the roles had been reversed.

Why is Roger Stone under oath like finding King Tut’s tomb? Wasn’t that a big deal? Roger Stone testifying will not be a big deal, because he won’t tell the truth, under oath or otherwise. And lying to Congress in the service of a Republican president is not only acceptable, it’s honored. Even if he for some reason told the truth, who would believe him? Anybody who wants to see Trump go down for this should hope no one with the ability to make that happen relies upon Stone to make it so.

Except Stone would have to gamble on what, if anything, the FBI has on him and whether Trump would take any risks to protect him if they did.

Roger Stone may be a reprehensible human being but how he dresses isn’t a bad thing. He’s not dressing like everyone else and that’s good. Please don’t make fun of superficialities when there is so much else genuinely wrong with him.
    Thanks.

When Trump suggested that Second Amendment types might be able to do something about a President Hillary’s Supreme Court picks, I called my local FBI office and asked them to investigate. I was told that they were aware of Trumps remarks. I was angry then. When Comey sent the letter re reopening Clinton email investigation and then the “just kidding” letter, I was really angry. But now that it has been confirmed by same Comey that Trump-Russia connections have been under investigation since July (but no October surprise letter to Congress), I am ready to shut the FBI down and start over. All new employees. If you have ever been an employee of the FBI, you cannot apply. Clear the place out and start over. Shut it down.

    @Mike in Pasadena:

    This!

When I was a kid, the FBI had a great reputation.

Then out came news about their attempts to scare MLK jr away from his organizing activity, the placement of provocateurs in political organizations, the buddying up to the Mob, Whitey Bulger, the inability to screen out the spies in their own organization…

Well, that list could get much longer before running out of terrible news about the FBI and it’s activities both legal and illegal.
