Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

This chaos was totally avoidable.

T R E 4 5 O N

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Petty moves from a petty man.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Let me file that under fuck it.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

Celebrate the fucking wins.

If you thought you’d already seen people saying the stupidest things possible on the internet, prepare yourselves.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

In my day, never was longer.

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

My right to basic bodily autonomy is not on the table. that’s the new deal.

On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.

From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.

Submit Your Photos

Good Morning All,

This weekday feature is for Balloon Juicers who are on the road, travelling, etc. and wish to share notes, links, pictures, stories, etc. from their escapades. As the US mainland begins the end of the Earth day as we measure it, many of us rise to read about our friends and their transient locales.

So, please, speak up and share some of your adventures, observations, and sights as you explore, no matter where you are. By concentrating travel updates here, it’s easier for all to keep up-to-date on the adventures of our fellow Commentariat. And it makes finding some travel tips or ideas from 6 months ago so much easier to find…

Have at ’em, and have a safe day of travels!

Should you have any pictures (tasteful, relevant, etc….) you can email them to [email protected] or just use this nifty link to start an email: Start an Email to send a Picture to Post on Balloon Juice

My husband saw a trumpeter swan flying the other day. Look so huge in the air. Saw a pic of northern lights near us from night before. Gorgeous. If I had known at the time, I would have gone out to look.

I’m from Ohio, but I travel all over the country to teach. Last week I was in Puget Sound, which was beautiful, and saw some eagles circling the bay. And now I’m in Annapolis on Chesapeake Bay, with another lovely view of the water. Mostly I’m seeing seagulls and crows.

I enjoy the sights when I travel, but my schedule is so tight that I don’t often get to spend much time sightseeing.

I sent a couple photos in, but they must not have been suitable. When I get my medium format + scanner setup working I will try again, ideally with something better.

In Sedona, AZ at possibly the best boondock campsite I will have in my lifetime — stunning view of the red rock mountains . Sent a picture to Alain, and will try to post a link if he doesn’t post it tomorrow.

    @BellyCat:

I once camped on the banks of the Green River in WY with a buddy, we were on a prospecting/rock collecting trip. When we woke up and started fixing breakfast, there were white pelicans floating down the river. Amazing!!

Glad the ancient crumpled derrigible is still on wheels!! Sounds like they fixed the problem that was causing all the other problems. Good Job.
