The Penguins got lucky on Monday night. They looked like crap except for a ten minute flurry in the first period which gave them enough of a cushion to survive playing lazy defense against a team that was jumping on the counter-attack.

So now that they stole a game that they really should not win, let’s see cheer them on tonight as they try to reduce their magic number to two.

    Grew up in Pittsburgh (though first years in MA so I don’t have the distinctive, much mocked and mostly exaggerated accent). Anyway, a lifelong Pirates, Steelers and Pens fan. Hell, I was even a Pittsburgh Rens fan in the crazy Civic Arena (Rens=Renaissance as in the city’s modern motto) . Haven’t lived in the city for many years (but periodically visit) so am watching this with interest (especially since the rest of my family car Caps fans as I live in the MD suburbs of DC).
