I doubt McConnell does think he’s a good guy, actually; he figures he’s defending his cushy “leadership” job, and whatever it takes to accomplish that is just fine by him.

    It’s almost like he has no clue what he’s doing. Imagine that! Short version: He gave Carrier a bunch of money if they’d commit to keeping 1100 jobs in the US. They agreed, and now they’ve shown that the jobs they’ll keep were all ones they weren’t planning on laying off. Everyone who WAS going to get laid off by carrier is still getting laid off.

They’re clearly going to need it – otherwise, they’re screwed if God turns out to be well, judgmental about stuff like that.

    I don’t know what it’s going to take to get it through certain folks’ skulls that for a lot of voters, hatred and greed and hurting others is something they value above and beyond their economic benefit. That when somebody on an Obamacare plan votes against Obamacare because the n*****s are on it too, they are acting in their own self-interest, because hating n*****s is that much a part of what makes them feel good about themselves.

    You’d think the election of Trump would have made that obvious, guess not.

    WTF? Why is this such an urgent question to them, and why today? He lied about the tapes or he didn’t lie about the tapes. He lies constantly. Why is this lie different? Why is this their hill to die on and why did they choose “the Senate is hiding their garbage health care bill day” to focus on asking this dumb question over and over? Trump is never producing anything. Nothing. I believe he made that clear when he told them to fuck off on the taxes and they ran away. They haven’t gotten shit from him over the last 24 months. They think they’ll get something real on the tapes?

    Donald Trump is never producing one real bit of evidence to prove anything he says barring a court order forcing him to do so. If he didn’t do it during his campaign (and he didn’t) he’s sure as shit not going to do it now that he’s in power.

    @Kay: To be fair, if Trump is now admitting he had no tapes at all, his open comment to Comey looks a LOT more like intimidation, possibly witness intimidation in a real sense. So it’s newsworthy.

    But since we already basically have that proof from other instances, it’s not THAT newsworthy. The healthcare bill (and the republican antics surrounding it) are much more important, but the media doesn’t want to actually cover policy.

    You frequently see a billboard along the roadside when the highway is under construction/repair ‘you tax dollars at work’. The D’s should plaster ever billboard and TV/radio show for the next 18 months with these images and the message ‘IS THIS HOW YOU WANT YOUR GOVERNMENT TO WORK?’.
    The number of electrons that have died on the topic of the ‘does the democratic party have a message?’ should now be answered YES. And YURTLE just gave it to them.

    What I find beyond belief is that the GOP hates Obama (and it is Obama not Obamacare that is motivating this) to such an extent that they will risk killing 100k people a year.
    And Rand Paul won’t vote for it in it’s current form because it doesn’t kill enough people each year. He of course wraps it up in pretty language but at the end of the day if you follow the Paul plan then more people will die not fewer.

    I’m listening to a GOP whore sucker talking about people losing heath care because of Obamacare. People are losing coverage because the GOP is murdering it not because of any failure of the legislation. I know it isn’t nice to say this but I would contribute to a gofundme effort to remove this guy from the planet. I think I would prefer to live next to the commandant of Aushwitz than these guys. ANd yes if it isn’t obvious I am ANGRY.

    Now this piece of trash is listing all of the problems with the health care system. Question where were the GOOPPERS over the 8 years of the Obama admin. when it came time to fix these problems. He actually seems to be suggesting that the democrats WANTED to create a doctor shortage. He is claiming that the US is falling behind in medical innovation. Well maybe we are and maybe we aren’t but the GOP is in the process of slashing the budgets of the agencies that foster that innovation.

    It’s my opinion that this wealthcare robbery is actually about protecting the military budget in the years to come as the baby boom generation ages. Republicans have a faceless foil in rich people and corporations getting tax cuts and because we’re things to continue with ObamaCare, Medicaid and Medicare budgets growing exponentially year after year the MIC is worried about their abundant share of the federal budget getting tapped to pay for healthcare.
