Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I like political parties that aren’t owned by foreign adversaries.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Human rights are not a matter of opinion!

The real work of an opposition party is to hold the people in power accountable.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

There are no moderate republicans – only extremists and cowards.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

Early Planning: NYC Meet-Up, Labor Day Weekend?

Got this from prolific Pacific-based commentor NotMax:

Very early feelers regarding a NYC meet-up sometime on Labor Day weekend.

Have a venue in mind but would help to know if Friday, Saturday or Sunday night works best for folks (holiday weekend). Personally partial to Sunday as it would probably offer a less crowded atmosphere.

Leave your notes / suggestions in the comments, or send me an email and I’ll forward it to NotMax.

    Wish I could, but my husband would divorce me if I said I wanted to stay in the city. We will be in the Poconos. Take lots of pics! And if anybody ends up in the Sullivan County/Pike County area, let me know. ETA. Are there any Juicers up here? I’d be surprised if there were not.

    I can’t do NYC, but I am going to be in DC in late September for a conference. Mr. Suzanne will be there, too. Would love to meet up if anyone is available.

    I certainly enjoyed going to the last DC meetup. Pick a date and I’m sure we can find a place.

    @bystander

    Lived in Pike County for quite a while, long ago. Population of the entire county back then was around 5,000.

    Best bargain ever was the P.O. box I had, for the whopping cost of $5 per year. Post office was in the living room of the postmistress’ house.

    @Hkedi [Kang T. Q.]

    Right back atcha. I enjoyed it as well.
