    Sweet, sweet rain is still falling here in Oregon. The air in the Willamette valley and Central Oregon is finally clear. Still widespread of smoke further east probably pushed there by the west wind I’m enjoying. Holding the fire lines should be easier for a while although it’ll take a couple weeks of rain to end this year fires.

    Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said on Monday that she would not rule out challenging the legitimacy of the 2016 election depending on the outcome of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s interference.

    During an interview with NPR’s Fresh Air program, Clinton noted that the U.S. Constitution provides no mechanism for rolling back an election even if President Donald Trump was implicated in conspiring with Russia to defeat her.

    “I don’t know if there’s any legal constitutional way to do that. I think you can raise questions,” she said. “Let me just put it this way, if I had lost the popular vote but won the electoral college and in my first day as president the intelligence community came to me and said, ‘The Russians influenced the election,’ I would’ve never stood for it. Even though it might’ve advantaged me.”

    NPR host Terry Gross pressed Clinton on whether she would “completely rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election if we learn that the Russian interference in the election is even deeper than we know now.”

    “No. I would not,” Clinton replied.

    I see that you were quoting someone who doesn’t understand NPR or radio network broadcasting and independent productions, or someone who doesn’t give a shit about accuracy, but NPR only produces a few of the shows that are broadcast on NPR stations. Also, NPR doesn’t actually broadcast any shows, they make them available to radio stations that subscribe to specific NPR provided audio streams. (I may be wrong about this, some networks do own individual stations, but I don’t think NPR does that…)

    And Fresh Air is produced in Philadelphia by WHYY radio, not by NPR at all. WHYY produces several other radio shows in addition to Fresh Air.

    Bought a phone last month and in the pursuit of how the hell to access and use its many gizmos I read reviews, usually finding a nugget or three in each. The one I have open, after yards of scrolling through the contents, has this to say:

    The call quality is very good, and you can hear the person on the other end clearly without having to turn the volume up all the way.

    Which is the sole note in the piece on how well the phone functions as a phone. For you kids, “phone” was once a device used for speaking remotely to another person.

    Lawn, vacate, etc.

    Am I the only one who doesn’t feel any outrage that Sean Spicer did a cameo at the Emmy’s?

    I’ve seen countless breathless articles today about normalizing him and how he must be shunned in all forms, but I really don’t get it. If Spicer wants to publicly admit his entire legacy is now defined by lies about crowd sizes and Melissa McCarthy’s impression of him, I say fine.

    Honestly being a punchline seems way worse than being a left wing pariah, and I’m not sure there’s any evidence his little sketch did much to redeem him anyway.

    That’s why we call ’em the ‘dogstacle’ course. Ours are 85 and 65 lbs and can somehow stretch themselves to cover about ten or fifteen feet of floor…so it becomes a dance to make your way from the living room to anywhere else in the house.

    That way thy know if you’re going to the kitchen, so they can trip you on the way back with food!

    Wow! I think this is the first time I’ve ever actually seen what Rosie looks like. Previous photos were either blurry, too dark, or only showed some part of her. Nice looking girl! Give her a cookie from me.
