Taylor, Gerald’s kid, and one of the best kids you’ll ever meet, is in emergency surgery. He collapsed at school, turned green and started sweating, and was rushed to the hospital. They thought it might be appendicitis, but it turns out he has weird intestines that have a T-like formation, and it ripped and got infected and he as peritonitis. He’s stable now, but good vibes never hurt.

Taylor is the one in the middle holding Xubi.

    Hope he’s ok, sounds like he’s going to pull through. My 8 year old son had an appendectomy 3 weeks ago, it was not fun. All better now though!

    When you get self-admission dialysis, they warn you every damned day and twice on weekends about the dangers of peritonitis. So far so good.

    So glad he’s stable AND getting further treatment – may it be the best! We just celebrated an anniversary of a successful surgery for my little one, here’s hoping Taylor is soon enjoying looking at this in the rear-view mirror, back in action!

    Sending good thoughts. My boss had something like that a few years ago. He thought he had the flu, but felt so bad he went to the ER and ended up in surgery. Fortunately, he made a full recovery.

    And an extra special good vibes for Taylor’s recovery, partly because I’m also partial to red hair. All 3 of my siblings and I had red hair, albeit no one had the same color of red as another. Plus a couple of years ago I had an abscess on my intestine and was thrown in the hospital for surgical excision of that portion of the lower intestine pronto, so am aware of how dangerous busted and about to bust intestines can be.

    Poor kid. My 7 yr old grandson had a burst appendix a couple years ago and it is so scary watching them go through the pain. You just wish you could take it on yourself. I hope everything works out well and he gets lots of fun gifts and money and great snacks to make him think it was worth the misery.
