Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

The party of Reagan has become the party of Putin.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Balloon Juice, where there is always someone who will say you’re doing it wrong.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

“In this country American means white. everybody else has to hyphenate.”

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

He really is that stupid.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

Every decision we make has lots of baggage with it, known or unknown.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

I thought about picking a public fight with someone but it appears we already have that covered.

Also, lets send some positive thoughts to EFGoldman, that cantankerous old fart.

I am on day four of my man cold. I woke up feeling great, but now feel like shit again. On the upside, no fever since Friday (when it was just 101).

Also, my joints hurt.

Oh yeah, it’s almost November, so you all need to get your best pet pics together!

    Getting much, much closer to replicating real old-fashioned New York rye bread in the super duper bread machine.

    Sounds bizarre, however replacing some of the water with root beer plus adding a bare dash of red wine vinegar works like a charm.

    I have a cold, too. I had one already a week and a half ago. I almost feel like having a five year old in kindergarten might be making it more likely to spread colds all over the house.

    @NotMax: Oh, do we not have to talk about football?

    It’s finally fall weather here in SF! 55, cloudy, and a stiff breeze. I slept so well this weekend, the bags under my eyes are back under control and I feel well-rested for the first time since Labor Day. Perhaps I will work on the denouement of my novel.

    Well, the Vikings managed an ugly win in England, so my overly invested in football coworker won’t be in a snit all week. Yay. I’m watching the Bears/Saints game and trying to decide which team I hate more.

    Zojirushi model BB-PAC20.

    Spent years dithering about purchasing due to the price. Very happy with it. Only negative is that the display has black letters/numbers on a deep gray background, which can be tough for these older eyes to read.

    For my Halloween costume, I have for my gear:
    * A Yankees baseball cap, worn backwards;
    * a Manchester United jersey;
    * a Blackhawks jacket;
    * Lakers-brand kicks;
    * a Cowboys codpiece;
    * purple camo jorts; and
    * a giant Pats tattoo on my forehead, outlined with “THEY HATE US ‘CUZ THEY AIN’T US” written in all-caps Gothic font.

    Because I never want to stop being punched for the duration of All Hallows’ Eve.

    As a Saints fan, seeing a bullshit application of the Calvin Johnson rule nullify a Bears receiver’s (Miller) probable last career touchdown given that he suffered a nauseating knee injury in the process just makes me angry.

    I did a little Googling to refresh my memory on efgoldman’s situation. Posting what I found here for everyone’s reference.

    He wrote at length about his medical problems on Sunday the 21st.

    Then last Wednesday he reported:

    I am going to be admitted to the hospital later today. I have lost all the considerable gains I made, and then some.

    I could not find any updates since then.

    In a thrilling last-minute comeback, the New York Jets, down by five points, and led by mediocre-armed Josh “Hey, I’m a game manager sort-of, not a pinpoint-accuracy thrower, so get off my case” McCown from the Jets 4-yard line, march down the field to their own 38-yard-line. With two seconds left on the clock, McCown unleashes a 65-yards-in-the-air Hail Mary pass to Jeremy Kerley — who, although only 5-foot-9, has a 57-inch vertical leap — who out-jumps three Atlanta defenders, and comes down with the ball in the end zone! Jets win, 42-25!!!!

    Damn, I never new how thrilling Fantasy Football could be.

    Fecking Jets, always finding new ways to lose. Fire Woody, fire Maccagnan, fire Bowles, and fire Terry Collins and Ray Ramirez for good measure.

    Back home after a weekend trip to visit my stepmom. My 7-year-old asked, while we were there, if there were any of the little single-serve Italian ices that, “I used to eat with Pop.” My dad’s been gone for almost 2 years now, and I mostly reminisce with joy, not grief now, but my son remembering that little detail about the brief time they had together got me right in the weepys. I hope he still remembers when he’s 70.

    Man, this Houston-Seattle game is excellent. Seattle just tied it up again!

    But earlier, we noticed that Pete Carroll removed a chewed piece of gum from his mouth and threw it on the ground. The sideline reporter then revealed that Carroll chews “about 20” pieces of Bubblicious per game and always discards the used wads on the ground.

    Jesus, Pete! WTF?!? Throw it in the trash, or have a flunky follow you around with a napkin!

    Legion of boom comes through again.

    And there were, as always, fireworks shot off in my neighborhood. At least it doesn’t go on and on. A few big booms and they’re quiet again. But always fireworks after a win.

    Found it funny that in the post game interview Graham only referred to Wilson as “three”.
