Proof we’re living inside a graphic novel: Omarosa, the most prominent black woman in Trumpworld (sorry Rayon and Cubic Zirconia) gets fired the same day black women snatch a U.S. Senate seat like a loose wig off Trump and Bannon.

On Omarosa's exit: I just talked to sources who tell me Omarosa was let go yesterday and that she was escorted off of the White House grounds by security. They say she is now calling friends saying that she left voluntarily because her year anniversary was coming up.

There’s one other big thing. Legitimacy. They know very well that they hold power solely through cheating. If something similar happened to all the Kardashians and the chance existed none of them would ever be heard from again, I would want to hear more about that opportunity.

@germy: Firing Omarosa is a job for the CoS. The person in the seat Trump i currently sitting in should have almost nothing to do with it. A President firing people should only rise up when it’s at an Obama and McChrystal type situation level of authority. Omarosa was staff and a hanger-on. Although I intensely dislike CoS Kelly, terminating her was his job and he needed nothing from Trump to do it. It shows how weak his position in the WH is that he even had to mention that Trump had signed off on the move.
lamh36
@Corner Stone: yes…she was always that way…a chip on her shoulder and then telling folks they had to bow down to the master Chump…

The only thing remotely interesting about her is Trump’s need to surround himself with people he is familiar with, no matter how scummy they are, especially if they kiss his ass. This includes his otherwise totally worthless sons.
I didn’t care then, I don’t care now. She was a nobody who did nothing. And since this is America, I presume that she will show up on a reality show or something similar. In America, once you appear on TV in some entertainment capacity, you obtain at least D-level celebrity immortality.

@Barbara: The antipathy to Polish persons in the UK is strange to me and also stands in direct contrast to Polish nationalism on the rise.

@Barbara: Yes, it’s amazing how they always think about the services immigrants use and never about the doctors and nurses from the EU who staff our hospitals or the Eastern European plumbers and other tradespeople who provide reliable quality services at reasonable prices.

@lamh36: April Ryan’s podcast with April Ryan talking about the end of her friendship with Omarosa (she was supposed to be one of Omarosa’s BRIDESMAIDS!), is one for the ages.

This war between Susan Collins and her constituents is the best thing. It’s like she stuck her head up and said “me! blame me for this horrible tax bill!”
It’s wonderful how Trump’s crappy, corrupt tax bill became her problem :)

I don’t know, maybe Manafort?

@jonas: That couldn’t have been the last straw for Omarosa. Her White House post-wedding photo shoot was in April, months before Kelly even became Chief of Staff.

Did Trump ever actually tweet that Moore would not be able to win the GE, or is that a figment of his imagination?

@TenguPhule:
From the EU viewpoint, … swimmingly. I think they are batting 1000 on things they want.
Plus no hard border in between Ireland and Northern Ireland pisses off Scotland and London, and Wales(?). “Why can’t we get that special treatment?”
Barbara
@Sloane Ranger: Or even about the business that located in the UK because it was part of the EU, or the fact that their children could pursue careers in other EU countries, which they have all done. They were also upset by the rise in nationalism in Poland and Hungary because they identified it with anti-Semitism, and I could not bring myself to ask how they could overlook the pro-Brexit purveyor of far right hysteria within their own country. They both agreed that David Cameron was a stupid man to settle a political dispute in his own party by betting the entire house on a roll of the dice.

@Brachiator: you are seriously missing the point in a really tone deaf way. I can’t speak for the AA community but the fact of the matter is that the community is blamed for the appearance, actions, and words of any high profile black person. They were rightfully insulted and angered by Omarosa’s ridiculous assumption of a role in the white house given that she represented a humiliating step back frim the many talented AA people who have served in previous administrations. Its not because AA posters are trivial or misunderstanding that Omarosa and the firing are a sideshow. Its that they do understand.

I want video of just one of her constituents asking her, “You think these written statements are worth the paper they are written on? If you do, we should ask an ambulance to take you to a psych ward for immediate evaluation. Because you’re either stupid, lying, crazy or think we are stupid or crazy.”

No one would have noticed if she had just kept her head down and rushed for the cliff with the rest of the lemmings, but instead she decided to go out and defend this piece of shit with the “ironclad guarantee” bullshit.
She wants it both ways. She wants credit AND the crap bill. All she’s getting is the crap bill.
Corner Stone
@Kay: She’s pitching herself as the conscience of the Senate but her fellow bravehearts have abandoned her. Where is Murkowski? What did they buy her off with? Flake and Corker are quiet as a titmouse in church. And McCain seems to be more and more erratic as each day goes by.
It’s just poor little Ms. Sen Collins, fighting for Teh Peoples! But damn she’s doing a piss poor job of it. I hope they rock some serious chants of “SHAME” at her when this vote goes down.

@Aimai:
Yep. It may not be vitally important to the country as a whole, but it’s vitally important to the very large Democratic constituency that makes up the loyal base of the party. Hence the reason it’s getting big coverage by liberals and Democrats.
Brachiator
@Aimai:
You’re right. You can’t.
Omarosa is not a high profile black person. She is just another reality TV show buffoon plucked by Trump to be one of his court jesters.
There is no reason to take Omarosa’s ouster seriously, no more than any Italian American gives a shit about the ouster of Scaramucci after a day and a half. And he was more of a insignificant asswipe than Omarosa. You are welcome to defend his importance to Italian Americans as “high profile.”
I reject the idea that just because someone black pops up on TV and is associated with Trump, that somehow, for some reason that person has to be accorded any kind of recognition. Nobody would do it of anyone of any other race. It’s bullshit.
WTF. Are you insane? The Trump administration is a cesspool of grifters, liars and thieves. Every fucking one of them. It transcends race and gender.
Omarosa doesn’t represent a goddam thing. Every fucking weasel in the Trump Administration represents a step back for humankind. It is absurd for anyone, black, white or indifferent to pay attention to any of these fools. The only question is when any of them will be either fired or indicted.
To try to single Omarosa out for anything but ridicule is a waste of time.
@ruemara:
Just not true. It’s pretty clear that Trump keeps some people around to flatter himself and to soothe his ego. They have no other purpose. They serve no other role.

And you say this based on your lifetime as an African-American, an Italian-American, or both?
Because if you’re not at least one of the above, you’re lecturing people in a different ethnic group about what you think should be important to them. Not cool, dude.
Brachiator
@Mnemosyne: If Trump were to be impeached and removed from office, would there be a single post here or in any corner of the Internet offering sympathy for the delicate sensibilities of German Americans?
I will bet you serious money that there was never a post here suggesting that Scaramucci should be respected as a high profile Italian American, or that looked at him as anything other than as an object of ridicule.
But ok. Scaramucci is a ridiculous asswipe because he is a Republican. Feel better?

Good point. Italian-Americans are considered white. For now. I wonder how far Trump’s racist nativists might go to upset the ethnic apple cart.
@Corner Stone:
Bombing out? About Omarosa? Not a chance.
Damn. There’s a story about her on the ABC evening news. She’s described as a longtime favorite of President Trump. What the fuck is that? A court jester. Gone. Now if we could only impeach and remove Trump, who is nothing but the Pretender in Chief, a massive muthafvcking embarrassment.
