Here’s a video of me fawning all over Yuki. I’m not sure who is having more fun:
Two things- my sinuses blew up and I hadn’t talked to anyone all morning before filming this, and my voice kind of even surprised me.
Second, my favorite phrased from 2017 is “indiscriminate belly rubs,” which I heard first from a story from ABC. Apparently at one point she had a dog, and they hired a trainer to come help them train it and provide some discipline, and I know I am somehow mangling this story, but on the trainer’s second or third visit s(h)e was not impressed with the dog’s improvement and stated “Clearly there has been some indiscriminate belly rubbing going on around here.”
She’s a good doggie.

Good lord, Cole: that dog! If I hadn’t just added a Sparrow to the nest…
Mingobat (f/k/a Karen in GA)
My Muppet rolls on her back a lot. Trouble is, I never know if it’s because she loves belly rubs or if it’s because she’s afraid and submissive, so when she does it I hedge my bets and just give her lots of ear scritches.
Patricia Kayden
You might as well keep her. The love is mutual. She’s adorable. Tricky Sister.
Kyle
If I lived anywhere close, I’d come steal her. She is adorable. But I’m in San Francisco and the logistics are too tough. Enjoy her.
Sab
That dog has the cutest nose and mouth. Too much makeup.

@Kyle: Same here. I’m slightly closer but still in California.

One thing I love about pitbull-adjacent dogs is the big smile you see when they are happy. And Yuki is very happy there.

Indiscriminate belly rubs are the only good kind, it seems to me.

You’re keeping the dog, aren’t you?
eclare
My doggie gets plenty of indiscriminate belly rubs. She is snoring beside me (not snoring) on the couch, so I think that is ok.

If my mother was still around, she’d say, “That dog should not be on the furniture.” I’ve had dogs my entire life and they were never on the furniture or beds, then I met Mrs J…Anze the Dog was on the sofa with her last night watching “The Man in the High Castle”, I was on the floor.
Olivia
Such a sweet dog! John, you really need to keep this dog! She makes you feel good. Maybe she can help Thurston learn to behave better.
Percysowner
I’ve been holding my opinion, but it is obvious that you adore that dog and she adores you. Plus, Lily loves her. You really need to think about keeping her.
SWMBO
Seldom do you get a great doggie love of your life like Lily. You have found your second great doggie love. Don’t mess this up. Follow your heart.

Oh my goodness, she is the sweetest pooch I have seen in a long, long time. I wish we could have a pet.
Yarrow
So sweet, John. Have you asked Lily if you should keep Yuki? She seems to love her new best friend. I bet she’d be really happy if Yuki stuck around.
danielx
Odds on Cole keeping the dog are currently 5 to 3 in favor. That’s the betting, not jackal sentiment.

Sweet puppeh!

I’ve been long convinced that the easiest thing in the world to do (and the most gratifying), is to make a dog happy.

It seems to me that female dogs are more affectionate and bond to their humans more than male dogs; that’s been my experience, anyway. Right now I’ve got a little guy, Rupert, and he’s a perfectly nice person, but I still miss my dear Louise, who I lost to old age about a year ago. Yuki looks like a real sweetheart and she’s making me think hard about adopting a girl again.
rikyrah
You are going to get Yuki a home,Cole.
I know it.
You are good people, Cole.??
Amir Khalid
Yuki has quite clearly found her forever home, with a loving human and a dog sister. Yes, John Cole must keep her.
singing truth to power
Please, please, please, John Cole, keep Yuki! You are the person she has always dreamed of!

It always makes me smile to see a dog smile, in it’s jaws and lips, and in it’s eyes too.
You have one happy dog there Mr Cole.
