    @khead: I had a purebred for 17 years. Sweet kitty who loved attention but was so used to people thinking she was pretty that she liked to charm everyone even people who were afraid of cats. She had a dumb blond act that I think was caused by the way people reacted to her. Act cute and people did everything for her. Pet her, feed her, bring her toys. Don’t chase the string, act cute and the string would come to her.
    She had been a show cat and taught to tolerate baths which made white coat keeping easier. She liked car rides because of the shows so it was easy to travel to visit parents in college. Their coats are much easier to keep than Persians and silky.
    I got one because my grandmother had some when I was a kid.
    Turkish Vans have the auburn Tunch markings and are the breed that likes to swim.
    Your next kitten looks Angora though. The vans have broad chests for swimming power.
