I think PA-18 might really be a good way place to put some of your money. Conor Lamb is eschewing outside help so he may end up spending under 300K, which is a tiny fraction what got spent on Jon Ossoff. Republicans are scared, and are spending a lot about seventeen times that amount:
Republican-allied groups have dramatically outspent their Democratic rivals 17-to-1 in the first congressional race of 2018, a special election in Pennsylvania that both parties have cast as a potential bellwether for the November midterms.
Four conservative groups have purchased $4.7 million in television and radio ads to help state Rep. Rick Saccone, their candidate for the Pittsburgh-area seat held until last year by disgraced former GOP congressman Tim Murphy, according to Feb. 2 numbers provided by strategists involved in the race. Democratic groups have spent less than $300,000 on behalf of Conor Lamb, who has waged a single-digit race in a district that voted for President Trump by 19 points in 2016.

Democrats won an exurban St. Louis seat in the Missouri state House of Representatives on Tuesday, racking up another victory in a district carried easily by President Trump in the 2016 election.
[…]If Revis’s lead holds, it would mark a significant swing from the 2016 elections, when President Trump won the district by a 61 percent to 33 percent margin.

I signed up to donate monthly to Conor Lamb, not too long ago. So chipping in here and there. I did that for Doug Jones in Alabama, too. A while back I did it for Tammy Duckworth, Colonel Congresswoman Duckworth, very sweet!

What happens if the lines are redrawn?

@JPL: Well, why would that stop you from contributing anywise?

@JPL: Won’t take effect until November I think.

my postcard writing GOTV group has been working on Connor Lamb for a couple of weeks now. He will be in the mix this week too. He looks like a great candidate.
Marcopolo
So we won 1 of the 4 specials in MO. Last race just called for the R 52-47. It was the biggest swing though as Trump won in 2016 78-19. I will take this as positive news for McCaskill holding her seat in Nov.

I’ve heard that folks from the Pittsburgh DSA are organizing for Lamb, which confirms the theory that s.o.c.i.a.l.i.s.t.s are much nicer in real life than on the Internet.

Hey Dougie, OT but I thought you and the other Jackals know if tomorrow is one of the most sacred holidays in Rock n Roll history. KEXP is celebrating International Clash Day tomorrow at 9:00 eastern and 6:00 PT. Non stop Clash for 12 hours. They’ve done that for at least a couple years in a row. Look it up at KEXP. ORG. Sorry I don’t do the linky thing, but I’m pretty sure that Paul Allen’s bouncing baby streams all over the world. I’m a PT casualty that sure as shit will wake up to the Clash at 6:00 A.M.

@Jim, Foolish Literalist: Ew. That’s honestly kind of gross.

reporter on MSNBC talking about how great it is that the House passed a bill reforming the way Congress will deal with sexual harassment complaints, citing it as positive news that his bill will go to president p*ssy-grabber’s desk.
The perversity of this goes unremarked by her and the other two journalists on the panel

I just got back from an author event where one of my favorite authors signed my favorite book of hers with my favorite quote from it, so I’m pretty happy right now. ?

I read a Politico post that said the Republicans are going all out against Conor because they don’t want another loss like Wisconsin. They have the President and Vice President going there, speaker of the house raising money, and paying people to go door to door.
they are worried so Conor may be doing the right things.
Adam L Silverman
@Waratah: Same reason Walker is violating the Wisconsin constitution regarding scheduling special elections for the legislative vacancies that exist because he appointed the people in those seats to positions in his administration. He’s scared to death of a repeat of the special election result and is banking on more GOP friendly results if he keeps the seat vacant until the midterms.

@Waratah:
Are you sure they want to win this race?
Yutsano
@Waratah: @Adam L Silverman: They must be in a panic. And the really interesting thing is it may not work. Lamb is a stronger candidate, has a more compelling back story, and deep roots in the district. And he’s running FOR THE DISTRICT. Honestly bringing in so many heavyweights just for a special is a huge sign of weakness.
Having said that, Conor does need more scratch.
JoeyJoeJoe
@JPL: People who know a lot of PA have said that if the lines are redrawn, one possibility is that district 12 would become more of a Pittsburgh suburbs district while the 18th would be more rural SW PA, and Conor Lamb could run in the 12th. It’d be more Democratic than the current 18th, so Lamb’s chances of winning would be greater.

@JoeyJoeJoe: So, I hear that the Republicans have a Super Majority in the Pennsylvania Senate. Which somehow means that they can impeach the Pennsylvania Justices. But how would that affect the rulings? Which were affirmed by the Supreme Court. I’m kind of skeptical about how the Senate can somehow overrule the courts. I don’t know how they’re going to pull this off.
