Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

White supremacy is terrorism.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

People are weird.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Optimism opens the door to great things.

Come on, man.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

From party-sparker Yutsano:

So I made it Thursday afternoon and am just awaiting details of what we’re doing. I know a lot of folks said Saturday was the best day, we just need a location and a time!

Leave a comment below, or contact me at annelaurie (dot) bj (at) gmail (dot) com, and I’ll forward your message…

If anyone’s on the fence, go to the meetup. I don’t know about the Seattle folk, but the Bay Area balloon-juicers are pretty great.

(Also, Alain must have fixed the feedly bug. This shows up in my RSS again, hooray!)

Shoot, can’t make it. I decided I liked that 4-week crud from January and signed up for a second round (well, hopefully this one won’t go so long) and I doubt anyone wants to share it. Have fun all!

@Bumper: Looks like there’s a garage nearby, so parking shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. I’ll try to rustle up something green balloon related.

@Yutsano: @Mike J: ooh! I’m not very familiar with Korean food, so this should be fun! I’ll see y’all there at 6:00. Maybe I’ll remember to bring the lantern as a shout out since I don’t have any balloons, green or otherwise.

    @Major Major Major Major:
Gotta say–the data and software people at the Roch-cha-cha Meet Up were quite pleasant, funny, and politically aware. I’m a human service type and the computer world is not supposed to mix well with the touchy-feely among us.
Not true. We had a good time and found that we were able to communicate but then we are from Rochester and we had pets to discuss and poutine on the menu.

Ok. I’m at Korean Bamboo in Belltown. Don’t see any other juicers. Hopefully in the right place just early???
