Hard to believe a week ago I thought I was going to lose her.
It’s just so nice having her right by me all the time. I can’t imagine her not being here.
Also, thank you all again for the financial help with her care.

Such a sweetie. Go Lilly!
or take a snooze.

So glad to see her continue to do well and crossing my fingers for the oncologist on Monday. Let us know if you need more financial help. Thanks for the update!
Chip Daniels
Its good to have her with you, as well.
Sab
You are plumping her up nicely. Two days ago I thought she looked seriously wasted. Now she she looks mildly svelte. Good job!

Ah, sweet Lily.
Mnemosyne
Our poor kitty Annie has to get a major haircut tomorrow because her fur got hopelessly matted while she was sick. She is going to be so mad at us tomorrow. ?
HRA
I wait for Lily news every day although I may not make a comment. I am very happy for you and her being together at your home.
Best regards
Hope.

So good to see! Anxiously awaiting medical update Monday.
@Mnemosyne: Are you making her get a lion cut? Kitties love lion cuts (not really).
rikyrah
Nice to see her where she belongs????
SiubhanDuinne
Took me forever to figure out that huge scary growth on her. Finally figured out it was your right foot. I are relief.
John, you’ve said that you are cherishing every minute with Lily, and in a way you’ve already gone through the worst of the fear and grieving. I hope you and Lily have years and years remaining together, but no matter how long it is (inevitably too short), I hope every day is perfection for both of you.
She is so lovely.

@SiubhanDuinne: said so perfectly I can only co-sign!
Good to see Lily happy and comfortable and cherished, as they all should be.

Love that doggie! Love her to pieces

Lily girl! Look how relaxed she is. Awww…. So good to see her. Wonderful she is doing well. I look forward to your Lily post every day.
I was playing with my neighbor’s dog today. She’s a herding dog and loves to chase people around the yard herding us together. It’s fun to play the part of the rogue sheep/cow and she comes chasing after you to get you to go back with the “flock.” This year her coat is so long. Usually my neighbor keeps her more trimmed, but somehow it didn’t happen this year. She looks so huge, but she’s not any bigger than normal. Just so much fur!

Been a hell of a week. Peace to you both, and the whole menagerie.

Thank goodness for modern vet care. I’m glad to see her happy at home.

@CaseyL:
I’m hoping to keep it to a kitten clip (where they just clip her fur short all around), but if the mats are bad enough, they won’t have much choice.
She’s going to end up a lot more comfortable, but she’s still going to be SO MAD at us.
RoonieRoo
Thank you for our nightly Lily reports. I very much look forward to seeing and reading them
SWMBO
@Mnemosyne: How much is that she’s genuinely mad and how much is she’s using it as an excuse to get more treats and pets? She may be mad when you are watching and ok when she thinks it’s ok to drop the act.
Yarrow
@SWMBO: My cousin’s dog is smart like that. If you aren’t giving her enough attention she’ll go pick up something she’s not supposed to have so you’ll have to come take it away from her and give her attention while doing so.
Mnemosyne
@SWMBO:
She’s a cat. She’s going to be mad that her dignity was injured by a bunch of goddamned monkeys.
When our late cat Natasha was mad at us, she would follow us from room to room just so she could ostentatiously turn her back on us when we looked in her direction.
Planetpundit
Lily girl looks MUCH better; Thx for the update.
SWMBO
@Mnemosyne: I want to be sure you see me ignoring you!

Look at that precious girl! Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well on Monday.

@Mnemosyne: One summer we got our wild child cat a lion cut because she was long-haired, would not let us comb her, and loved to be outside in the country, so she was matted and full of burrs. I thought she would be really pissed, but it turned out she loved it. She was cool in the heat of summer, burrs just rolled off her, and the mats (and pain) were gone. Mats hurt, since they pull on the hair. She looked like a suede lion. The cut grew out by fall, so everyone was happy. So you may be happily surprised.
ETA: It’s SO nice to see the daily updates on Lily. Thank you!
Kristine
@Yarrow: Yup. My King used to do that. When I didn’t get up fast enough in the morning he would grab one of my slippers and growl like he was going to shred it.

@Mohagan:
I love that suede feeling when they’ve been shaved.
Love you, Lily!

I fell asleep way early last night so I had to check for a Lily update first thing this morning. Yay for happy days and hope.
I still have the Maybe Just One More Dog Post thread open in one of my tabs – it’s the one where we get 3 photo of Lily tucked in bed, each one more of a close-up than the one before. So adorable, I look at it multiple times a day.

This is so happy making, and I’m clinging to your good news because mine is bad. My insignificant other, who had to put his cherished best friend to sleep Wednesday, had to put one of his stepson’s dogs, whom we have with us most of the time, to sleep yesterday. Both lovely animals had sudden, unexpected, awful medical events. I hope Lily and her assorted pseudo siblings live long and prosper. I’m loving vicariously.
WaterGirl
@Skepticat: I’m sorry, losing two like that is beyond devastating.
gammyjill
@SiubhanDuinne: what lovely words, Siubhan. Our time with our beloved pets is not long enough in most cases and our mourning is part of being pet parents.
Miss Bianca
@Skepticat: oh, so sorry to hear this! Hugs to you – that’s just awful.

It makes me so happy that you got your Lilly, back. Extra time with our closest friends is very precious. Been ‘there’ and done that. I am a long time dog and cat owner too. Our current dog Bob, a Saint Bernard cross, has been a part of our lives and even our bed at night for over 10 years. He has a limp now and gut problems, we went to the Vet, but even that trip made him limp worse. I will love him as much as I can each and every day. What else can we do?
Give your Lilly a hug for me and Bob, OK?

Lily looks so much better already. Good job, John. I also wait for my nightly Lily update. Go, Lily!!!

How could we not help. Lily pictures always make my day better and donations through the people on this site allowed me to rescue my kitty Natasha.

@HRA: I too wait for Lily news every day. It’s lovely to see these sweet pictures of her resting/eating/eating some more at home.
