At least we don’t have to pretend Trump is making any godsdamned sense…
Trump plans to do FOX PHONERS more regularly, Kellyanne Conway says on Fox News.
CONWAY: “The president has said he would like to perhaps come once a month and as news breaks. He’ll keep us guessing.”
FOX: Wait. Come to Fox & Friends once a month?

— Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) April 27, 2018
From the Daily Beast:
… According to aides, Trump thought the interview went well and considered it a slam-dunk—even as many senior officials remained dismayed at the potential legal and political damage that the president can cause with these types of freewheeling, grievance-filled live interviews that often resemble private phone calls to friends and confidants. (For instance, on that same Thursday morning, Trump’s comments on Fox & Friends were immediately used against the president’s embattled personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen in court.)
Two White House officials independently referred to the Fox & Friends appearance as “therapy” for the president—therapeutic sessions that, apparently, Trump intends to call in for many more times during his presidency…

Since this is an open thread, I need to ask the jackalteriat for advice. What do you do with a wound that just refuses to heal?
Background: I developed a cyst in an inconvenient location last December. I had minor surgery to remove it in January. By the two week mark, it was 95% healed, with just a small area on the surface still open and bleeding. It has been remained at about that level of healing every since, despite everything the surgeon and myself have tried. She’s cauterized it with silver nitrate. No joy. I tried hydrocolloid bandages. Those made it worse. Etc, etc.
Part of the difficulty is the damn thing is on my inner thigh, practically in the groin (which makes exams ever so fun). So I can’t just leave it uncovered for any amount of time in hopes the air will cause it to heal because a) practically any movement causes it to rub up against something and b) people prefer if I wear pants in public. It also sits right on the tendon there, so the skin is always being pulled in multiple directions when I move. And it seems to be attempting to a grow a blood vessel right up to the surface, rather than y’know, skin.
So, ideas? I will take anything from Real Doctor Advice to folk remedies so long as they aren’t poisonous or will lead to infection.

@Luthe: You could ask about maggot therapy. Maggots are being used for wound debridement, especially in places where antibiotics are harder to come by. I heard a piece about on the BBC a few years ago.
When I was helping out my dad after his surgery I had to change the bandage frequently. His wound wasn’t healing fast enough so we started using an antibacterial ointment. Kind of like neosporin but prescription strength. That cleared things right up. There could be an infection that isn’t big enough to really cause problems but is enough to prevent healing.
Skepticat
@MomSense: I second the suggestion of a wound clinic. Otherwise, you’ll have to sit completely still–and pantless–for about a month, as moving is probably what’s pulling it open.

@Luthe:
Sounds like it’s a difficult place to heal no matter what and may need a bandage on for longer than one might think.
I’m a machinist and we work around sharp stuff every day. I end up with bandages a fair amount. Some of them take quite a while to heal if they are in a place that the skin really is never relaxed so it can heal easy. It’s always neosporin and a bandage. I have had zinc ointment work well also. And it may depend on the cyst. Decades ago I had one on my back which a doc opened and drained. When my better half changed the bandage she was able to pull out two 4×4 bandages that the doc had put inside. Neither of us had a clue the cyst was that big. It took quite a long time to heal, unusual for me and I have a rather nice scar on my back which I’ve had to explain on occasion.

Folks going after Joy Reid make me FURIOUS! I was in Gay Liberation from 1969. The Mafia had a contract on us. There were bomb threats. The Vice Squad had 200 paddy wagons to arrest us at a dance. Black activists supported us against the Mafia. Some condemned us. A Black Muslim got us an insurance policy for the dance. Not everyone is perfect but we knew how to tell our allies from dangerous foes.
And we had naysayers, and enemies (can you say Roy Cohn) in the very closeted gay community.
We’ve still got foes and people who will attack our ‘imperfect’ allies. Joy Reid is a champion for our allies and keeps moving the needle in the right direction. Sge is our nearly perfect friend. We live in desperate times that remind me of the early 70’s. We need thousands like Joy Reid and have little use for Glenn Greenwald, no matter how ‘gay’ he is. Joy Reid knows where the dangerous path leads. GG seems to have lost his way.
Again, if you need perfect apologies you won’t get ANY love from me.

There’s a knife sharpener at the farmer’s market, but I’m afraid I’d do too much damage to myself!

@debbie: Yes, but Luthe was asking about any and all options, so I thought I’d mention it. It’s an option and many people have not heard it’s being used again. It to be prescribed by a doctor so if Luthe’s issues don’t meet that criteria it wouldn’t be an option.
I will reiterate what I said about my dad. His wound wasn’t healing. No sign of infection and the doctors (three of them) were not sure why. Switched to a prescription antibacterial ointment and the wound healed. The doctors figured there must have been some very minor infection that wasn’t really visible but once that was dealt with via the antibacterial ointment it healed. At least that was the doctors’ determination. I guess sometimes an infection can be very low grade and not be obvious even to the doctors.

Thanks for the advice so far. To add a few additional facts: there was a minor infection that was cleared up with a short course of antibiotics. Generic Neosporin has also been in liberal use. I am currently keeping the makers of non-stick gauze pads, medical tape, and those transparent adhesive squares you put on top of bandages in business. Also, no diabetes, early 30s, and non-binary AFAB (aka no dangly bits).
I will look into wound care clinics, but any additional advice is welcome.

I agree with recommendations for a referral to wound clinic. I advise much research into the best available local wound clinic before getting a referral.
Regarding antibacterial ointment, a very old and good friend who was an ER doc for 30 years told me that over the counter ointments were worse than useless for many reasons. I had a small but growing sore on the back of my hand while wife was hospitalized back in 2011 for septic shock. The sore started from nowhere while I was using hospital’s hand sanitizer often.
I was prescribed an oral antibiotic by our primary physician whom I saw daily in the early stages of wife’s treatment, he also prescribed ointment called “Mupirocin USP 2%” which I have used off and on on various wounds since then. My ER doc buddy agreed that it was the best. It also comes in a veterinary preparation, exactly the same label except for “For veterinary use only” on the tube, vet and docs all agree it comes off the same production line.
Don’t wear anything that may be irritating your sore! Let the air get to it.
