    I think that, at this point, any powerful Democrat who has a nasty skeleton in their closet needs to assume that it will come out sooner rather than later and take steps immediately to reveal it themselves and mitigate the fallout. We can’t have this shit coming out in late October FFS.

    Unfortunately it sounds like this one is true. Ironic that he was involved in starting what started the metoo movement. Anyway I’d like his replacement to be an experienced deputy who just keeps going like nothing happened. That’s how we can deal with dirt leaks. I was in and out of UCLA Medical the first four years of my life without a diagnosis. A local GP looked at me and told my mom to have my tonsils out and I would be fine. This happened, so if Mrs. in the ATL still has her tonsils, maybe? Seriously, I hope Mayo can help.

    I recommend refusing to recognize the GOP’s legitimacy as a political party if the House doesn’t flip this November. It’s an historical pattern that the president’s party loses an average of 32 seats. Protests, sit-ins, the works at the Capitol. Make it impossible for them to do their jobs (what little they do already) and harass them.

    IMO (and IANAL), a civil lawsuit would hurt the victim’s case in the eyes of the public unless the statute of limitations has expired for a criminal case. And if a criminal case is brought, he should probably take the best plea he can get rather than drag it through the courts.

    And if this is all BDSM gone wrong as his initial statement seemed to imply, well, this is why smart people who are into BDSM get a written and signed contract saying what they will and won’t do before playing out any scenes. He would be well-advised to do that before entering into any new BDSM relationships.
