He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

Press Gangs.
Always a sore spot that you should not pick at.

He has plundered, period. We now have the first president ever who puts himself above his country. Wish the Founders could have forseen this and added some sort of prohibition in the Declaration.

That is how I feel about what the traitor in the White House is doing.

@debbie: They did see foreign influence as a problem and put checks in the Constitution: qualifications for President(specifically the natural born citizen part) and the Electoral College. Alot of good the EC did.

Thank you Adam. History is certainly rhyming, is it not?

Holy shitsnacks, no *wonder* the MAGAts were losing their shit when NPR was tweeting this out last year! Upon closer review of the actual text, it all becomes clear to me!

@?BillinGlendaleCA:
The catalyst is from within. They never thought that would happen.

@Miss Bianca:
Check the next post. Facebook has freaked out too.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: EC was a great success—remember the Wilmer-bro elector who wouldn’t cast his ballot for Hillary even though she won his state? That’s how the EC was intended to work!

@Miss Bianca:
They know their Declaration about as well as they know their bible.

@WaterGirl:
One of the reasons I toy with the “Living in a virtual reality” theory is that the same stuff keeps happening, same characters keep appearing.
Or..archetypes.
Or… Illuminati.

In context, the King of England was also the King of Hannover (for the entire time from 1714-1837). So the troops known as the “King’s German Legion” weren’t foreign to George III. There were also Hessian mercenaries in the mix, so it’s unlikely that the colonials knew which troops were mercenaries and which were Hanoverian conscripts*.
* @Villago Delenda Est: Press Gangs, Exactly. And then quartering them on the populace as if in hostile occupied territory rather than building barracks for them.

@MagdaInBlack:
Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner.

@FlyingToaster: But, while Hanover and the UK were reuld by the same king, they were not the same country. As a result, people who until that moment saw themselves as British citizens would see any of the German troops as foreign.

I’m sorry, reporters seem to be on vacation for some reason. What did Trump do?
