GOP governor cuts health care budget to prevent Planned Parenthood funding
By Justin Wise – 07/06/18 05:06 PM EDT
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) is eliminating part of the state’s health care budget to make sure no funding goes to abortion providers.
The State reported on Friday that McMaster vetoed nearly $16 million in health care services — a move that came with the goal of defunding abortion clinics such as Planned Parenthood.
“Taxpayer dollars must not directly or indirectly subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood,” McMaster told The State. “There are a variety of agencies, clinics and medical entities in South Carolina that receive taxpayer funding [that] offer important women’s health and family-planning services without performing abortions.”

U.S. Soybean Prices Crumble; US Farmers Suffer, Brazilian Farmers prosper
July 6, 2018 at 12:17 pm EDT
Soybean prices in the U.S. and Brazil, the nations that account for roughly 80 percent of global exports, have taken drastically different paths thanks to Donald Trump’s trade war, Bloomberg reports.
In the U.S., average cash prices fell to about $7.79 a bushel this week, the lowest in almost a decade… Meanwhile in Brazil, exporters have been handed high times. Soybeans to be loaded in August at the nation’s Paranagua port fetched $2.21 a bushel more than Chicago futures as of Friday, the widest gap since data starts in 2014

it’s not that Jim Jordan is a sex offender, it’s that he looked the other way to let a sex offender get away with it for years on end with possibly THOUSANDS of victims involved.
It’s the shameful willingness to cover up and lie for sex offenders.
It’s the shameful eagerness to maintain a status quo rather than stop a crime in progress.
It’s the shameful obsession with gaining authority and power with NONE of the responsibility that goes with that authority.
It’s not that Jordan should resign, it’s that Jordan should get dragged off in handcuffs for his acts of conspiracy against every victim in this story.

I dunno if it’s been reported here but the co-creator of Spider-Man Steve Ditko passed away.
Granted, he succumbed to an obsessive need to write about Randian Objectivism since the early 1970s, but the impact of his artwork on the 1960s comic book industry can’t be understated: alongside Kirby’s groundbreaking work with Fantastic Four and Thor and other Marvel titles, Ditko’s work on Doctor Strange opened up once-static panel artwork to full page-spreads of mysticism, dimension, and awe.

State Clemency Official to Black Applicant: How Many Kids Do You Have? By How Many Different Mothers?
July 7, 2018
After serving time for a felony, Florida resident Erwin Jones, appeared in court before Gov. Rick Scott (R) and the cabinet, sitting as the Executive Clemency Board, seeking to get his civil rights back, so he could vote, sit on a jury or run for public office.
However, Jones, a black man was subjected to racial discrimination as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis asked him a series of highly offensive questions, according to the Florida Phoenix.
During the June 14 meeting, Patronis asked Jones how many children he had, and “how many different mothers to those children [there are]?”
Patronis, a Republican also asked another man seeking clemency, William Reid Hicks, if he attended church or not.

One of the funny things trump never considered, or never let on about: by waging tariff wars, trump cuts off our own industries and markets, and allows the industries and markets of OTHER NATIONS like Brazil to fill the void. China and Europe can withstand our tariffs because they can just as easily get products and services from South America, Africa, and other parts of Asia.
Wanna know a secret about the (first) Civil War? The Southern slaveowners – heavy into cotton as a single commodity – hoarded entire warehouses of cotton during the war in an attempt to force the cotton-needy nations of England and France to submit and recognize the Confederacy (or at least help with much-needed military supplies in trade). Thing was, since 1850 England realized the likelihood of civil war would threaten their supply so they began growing cotton in other parts of their Empire – Egypt for example – so that by 1860 they could live without Southern cotton. As a result, the Confederacy had little to trade with, and also hurt themselves domestically by using up most of their farmland for cotton growing instead of shifting needs to food crops to feed their own soldiers and homefront citizenry.
trump is playing a similar, foolish game. he thinks that because the U.S. is the largest economic powerhouse on the planet with a diverse number of trade-able commodities, most other nations HAVE to deal with us – worse, deal with HIM – sooner or later. But most of the planet knows that all they have to do is outlast him… be it two years be it six (shudder). And if he tries to break THAT rule in the Constitution, they know this nation DOES fall apart and they can deal with the parts of the U.S. that remains sensible and trustworthy.

Ugh… won’t try to watch it, That stuff makes me sick, these people suddenly feeling free to let their ugliest internal horror loose in front of everyone. The only good thing is that the next thing that happens to them is getting fired, kicked off their little power trip committees.
Quite a surprise to real racists to learn that most people around them actually despise their racist hate when it bubbles up. The guy who called the cops on a black woman resident in his apartment complex for being in “his” pool has been fired and thrown off the homeowners pool committee.
I imagine and hope this woman will also be fired for outrageous biased behavior. “Because I wanted them to go away!” WTF?!!!

Hot take: Elvis (Costello) is racist straight up and plain; I don’t forgive the ugly shit he said about Ray Charles.
@hervevillechaizelounge: He gets a pass. He’s a white people “cultural institution”, like Louis CK (whoops) or Eric Clapton, who has always liked a good dose of fascism along with the blues tunes he watered down and made safe for white folks.

Wait, you can’t report something to a COACH in the locker room? What, do you have to make an appointment to see him in church?!?
Jordan is losing his cool, totally, and I would hope that he’s going to be in big trouble for failure to protect these guys, and failure to report, which for a mandatory reporter is a big deal now, not sure if it was then. The R’s seem to have such a lot of perverts elected to high office these days. Wonder if it was always the case?
His statements seem tailor made for commercials to run endlessly for the next months.

No way this is the whole story. Judge is a RWNJ? Judge is being pressured? Something’s going on.

In my book the Secretary of Homeland Security should be jailed until every child is reunited with every parent/aunt/uncle. This whole thing is already despicable child abuse with what we’ve seen and know for a fact.
And as Ancient R. said, it is going to get much worse before it starts getting better. Kids stored away in an abandoned office building? Exactly how much tracking is being done? None.
The government is talking about preventing human trafficking while setting up a perfect storm of children kidnapped and ripe for abuse by anyone, and unable to tell authorities who might do something about it because they speak a language no one at Health Nor at Homeland Security can speak. That’s great Homeland Security for ya!!!
Vile despicable people willing to torture children to make legal amnesty seekers think differently about America. Make America so hateful no one wants to flee here? Great plan suckers!
How are we supposed to be able to sleep with this going on in our nation? To… I gotta stop and listen to some old music and chill.
G’night all…

So you didn’t bother to watch the Questlove video?
Hint: there’s a reason people keep talking about a single incident that happened 30+ years ago, which ain’t the case with Clapton, who is a multiple offender.

And of course after using DNA to match up families, the government will promptly delete the DNA database and not retain it as a permanent law enforcement record.
In a pig’s eye.
