    As a narcissistic sociopath, it’s clear Trump has trouble feeling empathy of any kind. He hears about people dying — people of the same faith as his own daughter and son-in-law, and he simply doesn’t give a shit. “What time’s dinner?” is his response. The man is a complete ghoul.

    Anyone who opposes Donnie and his Minions, and has the means to persuade others, is a threat to them. That’s why Soros, who supports organizations to make Democracy stronger and weaken tyrants around the world is such a boogie man to them.

    They’re so transparent. (Similarly, anything they accuse their opponents of doing is usually something they are doing or want to do themselves.)

    If people are going to pay attention to his tweets and rallies, they should only do so to the extent that he indicates who we should all ally with to oppose him. Donnie attacks individual or group X means that he’s afraid of X and therefore we should have common cause with X.

    Relatedly, tweets should (almost) never, ever be considered news IMHO. Anyone around the world can easily gain access to Donnie’s tweets. A naked tweet is not news. News organizations should be in the business of collecting and distributing information that is important and not easy for normal people to collect and digest. Investigative reports; reporting from far-flung areas of the country; stories about important complex topics. IOW, the absolute opposite of what Twitter is – especially as used by Donnie. The MSM regurgitating Donnie’s tweets is the laziest form of reporting, and is dangerous to our democracy…

    Republicans don’t just campaign against their political opponents. They campaign, demonize, and undercut by law anyone who might be a barrier to their ambitions. And that includes liberal judges, environmental groups, civil rights groups, unions, environmentalists and especially any source of democratic money. Meanwhile, the Koch brothers, Coors Family, Mercers, Adelson, and other billionaires of their ilk support the far right infrastructure with impudence.
    The book Dark Money spells it out, and a documentary also called Dark Money, winner at Sundance, is free to view until Oct 31.
    Democrats with the highest visibility should be running against these people as well as their immediate opponent. They need to have a light shown upon them. It does not happen enough.

Viktor Orban (who Trump gets all dreamy over) used Soros as a campaign foil. To the extent that Orban’s people made decals of Soros’ face with a scare message and put the big stickers on the floors of trams around Budapest. 10s of thousands of commuters stepped on an image of Soros face every day in the run up to the last (sham?) election there.

Except that they also think his tough talk about other countries is responsible for all kinds of wonderful things. But his talk about hurting journalists and how Democrats are ‘crazy’ is nothing to be concerned about. Yet when he talks about Making America Great Again it’s inspirational and motivating. But when he says maybe the 2nd amendment people could have solved a potential Hillary Clinton problem, that’s just bluster. And when he says “Merry Christmas” and “God bless America” he’s showing moral leadership. But when he says he’s entitled to grab women by their pussies, it’s just harmless locker room talk.
