Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

You cannot love your country only when you win.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

Rupert, come get your orange boy, you petrified old dinosaur turd.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

I would try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Republicans cannot even be trusted with their own money.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

All hail the time of the bunny!

Fight them, without becoming them!

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

Have a wonderful day, and enjoy the pictures!

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, everybody!trav

Today, pictures from valued commenter Big R.

I spent Saturday wandering the Old City because, you know, there just wasn’t anything open unless it was run by non-Jews and for tourists. These are a few pictures from that day.

Old City, Jerusalem

I know what you guys come here to see. And so do I.

Jerusalem

The Old City sits on top of a mountain and Jerusalem’s growth has been onto the next mountain over. The valley between them is referred to as the Hinnom. This is a view of the Old City from the New.

(Don’t be too judgmental if I’ve screwed up names; my Hebrew is…not great.)

Hagia Sion, Old City, Jerusalem

So I took this picture thinking this was an old Byzantine church from the medieval period. In fact, it’s a Roman church built in 1910. But it sure looks Greek, don’t it?

A view from my desk as the sun sets.

Thank you so much Big R, do send us more when you can.

Travel safely everybody, and do share some stories in the comments, even if you’re joining the conversation late. Many folks confide that they go back and read old threads, one reason these are available on the Quick Links menu.

One again, to submit pictures: Use the Form or Send an Email

Nice pictures, Israel is on my list of countries to visit someday in my life. Hopefully in peaceful times.

Anyway, happy thanksgiving to everybody across the Atlantic.

We’re remodelling our living room, my pc is stowed away, so I won’t submit pictures this week. I hope I have my pc and some minutes in time for next Friday.

@Amir Khalid: The court displeased Our Leader, according to our leader. A few minutes later, he fantasized aloud about American troops gunning down the Caravan of Invasion inching ever closer to our southern border. He also mispronounced ‘Tijuana’ about a half dozen times…
