I’d drink Ann Coulter’s tears if they we’re so carcinogenic. https://t.co/QIClHkFoZc pic.twitter.com/I43oV3vMbA

Coulter said "Trump will very likely not finish his term and definitely not be elected to a second term." Fox cited her comments around 7:05. Then this… https://t.co/KOhqaHIPDc

Doubt it! We did focus groups of 48 Trump voters in June ‘17. Asked about The Wall:
-1 said building physical wall was a top priority
-2 said they thought it would happen
-3 said they really wanted it but wouldn’t happen
-42 said it was either a metaphor or a negotiating tactic https://t.co/CjuebbOqK3— Todd Schulte (@TheToddSchulte) December 20, 2018
In latest @CNN poll #borderwall opposed by 76% African-Americans, 66% Latinos, 66% adults younger than 35, 57% independents, 66% college-educated white voters and 56% people aged 35 to 49. That coalition just flipped 40 House seats & won pop vote by ~10m https://t.co/VZDfwRfjXM

BREAKING: Kremlin-linked Twitter accounts are pushing hard for an American government shutdown. They’re promoting hashtags like GoFundTheWall and VetoTheBill more than anything else over the last 24 hours. It’d be great if we had an American president to fight back. But we don’t.
— Scott Dworkin (@funder) December 20, 2018
A good test for whether the border wall is a winning issue is — let me just get hypothetical here — an election in which Republicans spend the final weeks warning about a threat across the border, then lose 40 seats.

If I see a GOP Senate override the president*’s veto on the budget, I will believe in Santa again.

In the Good News department, this sign went up yesterday on the freeway that runs between Glendale and Pasadena.

“Trump will just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populists for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.”
…Whereas if he did build a wall, he would have a legacy.
Not sure if Coulter has thought through all the implications of her statement.

So I’m guessing an army of NYT reporters will be descending upon diners throughout the Midwest to talk with RealAmericans® who still believe in Trump even though there is no wall.

I have known of Ann Coulter for 17 years, since the post-9/11 days when she called for the US to conquer Muslim countries and convert Muslims by force to Christianity. Is she a real conservative, or is she just doing a performance-art version of one?

@Amir Khalid: I’m not sure there’s a difference. “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be very careful what we pretend to be.” – Vonnegut
Good morning. Woke up, listened to Rachel Maddow talk about Mattis resigning. The wheels are really starting to come off, aren’t they?
oatler.
The “liberal tears” they claim to be drinking/bathing in seem to have turned into nitric acid.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: Maybe someday we’ll name rename Yucca mountain after trump. “The Donald J. Trump Memorial Nuclear Waste Site”, where shit we never want to see or hear from again goes to be buried.

Known of. I have no personal acquaintance with her.

@Joey Maloney: Dunno if the wheels are coming off or not. Maybe he’s just continuing to implement what he says he believes. That he’s the essential man, that “only (he) can fix it”. That he doesn’t need people in the Cabinet or to have conversations with Secretaries or Congress or allies – he can just announce things on Twitter and the world will do his bidding.
He so desperately wants to be King….
His brain damage is getting worse, as we knew it would.
Even if he eventually nominates someone to these vacant/acting positions, he won’t listen to them.
2019 is going to be interesting to say the least. :-/
Good morning and happy Friday, everyone. Fingers crossed for everyone subject to the coming shut-down. :-(
Cheers,
Scott.

@OzarkHillbilly: Back in 2008 a group proposed re-naming a sewage treatment plant for George W. Bush. They got enough signatures to put it on the ballot but the initiative failed. After Margaret Thatcher’s death, sales of the Wizard of Oz song “Ding Dong The Witch is Dead” went to #2 on the UK singles chart. Back in 2014 a Cleveland Browns fan was arrested for urinating on the grave of Art Modell, former owner of the Cleveland Browns, who re-located the team from Cleveland to become the Baltimore Ravens.

It continues to blow my mind how freaking hard Russian trollskis post. It’s almost admirable (wipe out a major world power without firing a shot or raising a traditional weapon!) except that I’m hating the result, plus it’s foolhardy because vengeance is definitely a thing.
No shit they’re all over Twitter: they’re EVERYWHERE. I spend some time on Reddit and that place is set up to be controlled by outside forces: get a team monitoring ‘new’ on relevant subreddits and you control the discourse. It’s like Fox News: fundamental events and situations just disappear and ‘unexist’. I abandoned r/chapotraphouse because it’s so overwhelmingly managed, it’s like trying to post on 4chan /pol/.
I guess this is the final stretch or something. Buckle in and hold on, ‘cos they’re everywhere, all over Twitter and Facebook and Reddit and I’m sure a few hang out here too. They’re there to heighten the contradictions or spread lamentation and woe. Don’t believe everyone you read, even here.

@James E Powell: Well, they sure as hell were not going to talk to RealMexicans as they were building the wall.
Ruckus
@sm*t cl*de:
She never does. Why should she start now?
Besides she’s pissed that the wall isn’t going to be built. She thinks it’s the bestest idea.
Ruckus
@Amir Khalid:
She’s too horrible a person and not at all gifted, it’s real, not performance art.
She really, really believes the stupidity that she projectile vomits out of her pie hole.

For anyone interested, here’s the roll call on yesterday’s House budget vote. Departing Republican House members like Ryan Costello and Leonard Lance, who pose as moderates on TV, thought it was more important to sock it to Nancy Pelosi than to stand up for the country and the government on a budget that both parties could get behind.

@David ??Merry Christmas?? Koch: Thank you for that smile.
