    I want to apologize to lamh for being blind on Northam. They ended up being right about Northam needing to resign over this. I want them to know that racism has no place in the Dem party and I don’t want them to leave. I always enjoy reading their perspective. lamh frequently posts about news the MSM doesn’t often report on.

    @Adam L Silverman: Most of my favorites have female vocalists, going back to Linda Rondstadt and Emmy Lou, then onto Bangles, Go-Gos, Motels, Concrete Blonde, KT Tunstall, Liz Phair, etc etc.. I recently discovered heavy metal with female singers, starting with Evanescence. Check out Halestorm, from Red Lion PA. Some of their tunes should be good workout music. :-)

    @chris: I took an advanced research design and methods for political campaign polling and surveys when doing my PhD. I didn’t think it was possible to get results this bad. Given the margin of error he’s anywhere from 1.3% to 6.7% favorable. Ebola, anthrax, and AIDS poll better than that! Schultz has to be really dumb, really gullible, or both to think that results from surveys where “generic independent centrist” was polled rather than Howard Schultz were worth what a cup of his coffee costs. And that’s provided his pollsters actually showed him the results and/or accurately reported what they polled instead of saying: “we polled this and you’re competitive, here’s the numbers” and never explained they didn’t actually poll Howard Schultz as Howard Schultz.

    Change Research tested hypothetical matchups with and without Schultz of Trump running against different Democrats: Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, and Bernie Sanders, with the order shown randomized.

    Schultz takes an average of four points away from what the Democratic candidate receives in a two-way race, while taking just 1% away from Donald Trump. That means Schultz’s presence in the race makes Trump’s margins between 2 and 4 points better than they would be without him in the race.

    In every three-way matchup except against Biden (who leads both candidates), President Trump has plurality support.
    In every two-way matchup except against Biden (who once again has a significant lead), the Democrat narrowly leads President Trump. A Schultz candidacy could pull more from the Democratic nominee than the Republican nominee if held today.

    While Schultz voters are disproportionately Independent, they are also more likely to be Democrats than Republicans.

    Berniecouldawon doesn’t even match Trump with Schultz in the running, losing by one point. However, Harris and Warren are able to match him.

The Democrats have no choice but to destroy him now and as quickly as possible. The priority right now for Democrats isn’t to let up on this. The oppo research and drops will intensify. The pressure on Starbucks to throw him under the bus will be increased. Expect a public forced buyout of his shares and a potential rebranding to differentiate and separate the company from this mess. What’s coming is Schultz delenda est.

    Combating global warming would make good business sense for him since coffee plants may be wiped out due to it and that might undermine his business a tad.

    Yall have lilsted a lot of great female singers. I would add the third member of the Trio singers, LInda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, and Dolly Parton, who has provide something like 80 million over 111 million books to kids to improve literacy. Plus a great musician.

    Susan Tedeschi, whom the younger Derek Trucks is lucky enough to have married, is also a great musician, and a wonderful person all over, so far as I can tell from the distance of a fan in the crowd.

    Lucinda Williams, who has been on Mountain Stage many times, is also a great singer. I’m listening to Seanan McGuire who is surprisingly good… some people have talent that in such quantities that it overflows into nearly everything they do. And then there’s Ben Carson and the rest of the Republican masters of the universe who drain talent from every circumstance they find themselves near.

    Now back into bed at nearly 4 am here in AZ! Big day later on today, back to Tucson for dinner with a friend, and joy at the Gem and Mineral show. Annualy on the first two weeks of Feb! Brings people from all over the world into Tucson.
