Mueller needed official copies of these transcripts to indict perjurers.

It’s so weird to have a Congress that actually cares when people are lying to them!

They’re going to need a large number of busses. Also, the idea that Devin Nunes may be indicted just tickles me. Why not… Paul Ryan? Um, by the way…

IT’S ON.

Re, last tweet: That must be all the winning I’m supposed to be sick of.
A Ghost To Most
Once is an incident, twice is a trend, five is – a conspiracy?
Tick tock.
MattF
@different-church-lady: Yeah, that last visual is epic. Those subjects of investigation do appear to have something in common… though I can’t quite put my finger on it.
A Ghost To Most
@MattF: Yertle?
WaterGirl
How sad is it when it’s a relief to read about the Russia investigation, a horrendous clusterfuck in its own right, as opposed to the relatively new horrendous clusterfuck in Virginia.
A Ghost To Most
@WaterGirl:
The Russian coup conspiracy is orders of magnitude more horrendous than what is happening in VA. Orders.
Immanentize
@WaterGirl:
Agreed, but take the good news where you find it!
Meanwhile, my personal bette noir is Brad Parscale. He thinks he has gotten away with it all. But now, his campaign hipster self may be realizing all is not clear without Nunes to save him.
ruemara
Or, the actual issue going on in America as opposed to blackface done 35 years ago.
Brachiator
I really love this part.
germy
I’m sorry, but the president made it clear last night that you guys need to stop all this “resistance” stuff. The investigations, the questions. Just knock it off, alright?
WaterGirl
@A Ghost To Most: You’ll get no argument on that from me.
Except that they are all lying about Russia, and there’s no question on the right way to proceed re: Russia. There is no moral ambiguity there.
At this point, everything about Virginia is making my head spin, and at this point I don’t know what the least worst option is in Virginia.

@Immanentize: Wasn’t he the one that winked at the two female reporters during his CBS interview?

@trollhattan: Do the Azores have an extradition treaty?
Rhetorical question, I know they’re part of Portugal.
Although Nunes is dumb enough to think he could escape there.

I hadn’t heard that, but certainly fits his personal.
The man is an idiot, but thinks he’s a super genius. To clever to get caught, because he knows computer things!

@germy: Yeah, Schiff heard that “don’t investigate me” part of the SOTU last night and decided to release the kraken anyway.

Excellent news. Serves, also, to shift media focus from Virginia to a degree ( though that mess must not be ignored).

@A Ghost To Most: put Rupert Murdoch and his entire family in public stocks on the WH lawn facing Pennsylvania Avenue. They can spend the rest of their lives there. We can have Sean Hannity and the Fox and Friends crew tend to their every need personally as part of their sentences.

Was the vote on party lines?

We did it with Joe McCarthy, we’ll do it again with this cohort. Never 100% effective, it ought to go without saying; reducing them to a toothless fringe movement for as long as possible is usually the best one can aim for.

They need to re-invite half the witnesses from the last term, the ones who were allowed by Nunes to get away with not answering tough questions, ask those questions under subpoena, and send those transcripts to Mueller as well.

This news might explain McConnell’s super sad face at the SOTU. Senators like Burr might be on the up and up, more or less, as much as he can bring himself to be. I am doubtful on some of the other GOP Senators.

FWIW, while Nunes certainly should and deserves to be investigated, Schatzman may be misreading the fifth inquiry: I think ‘those in the Congress’ is supposed to modify ‘investigations’, not ‘actors’. But otherwise ‘actors’ would be a strange and somewhat prejudicial term to apply to Congresspeople.
NotMax
@debbie
A little something to assuage an itchy clicky finger. Harmless, promise.

@thafax: Somehow I lost a thought in this comment, but between the two sentences I meant to say: “It could be possible that the the ambiguity is intentional.”
lamh36
Sooo apparently it’s probably harder to find a white man of a certain age who DIDN’T don Blackface…smh
Jeezus christ
I mean is it a right of passage or something?
Oh and anyone else think the entire reaction and possible consequences to the VA situation is shining a light on the systemic racism underlyig the US since it’s inception. I mean 2 white politicians admitting to donning Blackface… 1 Black politician being accused of assault in a entirely sketchy situation…and the one who’s the most likely to be made to resign is the Black politician who fervently denies allegations.

Everyone on that list of transcripts is stupid and arrogant enough to have lied to Congress.

White male graduated in 1980 from Johns Hopkins, never wore blackface in my life. I do know for a fact that one of the fraternities did have people in blackface at a couple of events, one of which I attended (a casino night). The fraternity was almost always in trouuble, and may have even been suspended at one point.

Is Nunes guilty of a) coverup, or b) obstruction? Inquiring minds want to know.

That’s 393 kilotons of popcorn production in 2012. (Nearly all popcorn is produced in the US.)
Depending on how often people order all the popcorn, you might only have it for a short while before it was all wished away to bury another neighborhood.
